I heard from the ticket office on Wednesday that they are moving the student section from the Northeast end to the Southeast side to have the students all in one end of the stadium at the request of Tom Herman. The visitor section is moving to the Northeast corner of the stadium and the season ticket holders that had seats in the southeast end are moving to the northeast end. Not sure if this will help student attendance but interesting move.

A picture would help. What about the band?

I was told the band will move with the students and be situated between Sections 30 & 31. It's not what I wanted (I wanted to put them back where they were 10+ years ago in Sec 26 & 27 on the NE side) but it's better than it was. Student seating section will be GA so that seating will be 1st come 1st served and you can sit with whoever you want to. I am glad that TH took note that student attendance is a HUGE problem that must be addressed.

By all means, get the LHB out of Section 19. Sucks that last year those of us sitting in the west side of the stadium could clearly hear the Tech band and the OK State Band (situated right across from us) but could hardly hear the LHB. Agree that 26/27 would be great, but 30/31 would still be an improvement!

If they don't turn the scoreboard down it will not make any difference where the band is.

Having the students GA and the LHB in the SE corner and endzone is a smart move by the AD. The band will be sound louder to the westside just like some of the visitor bands sound plus most important the GA will give the students a reason the get inplace early to get their favorite seats and friends.
In a close game or OT the South endzone should be a weapon.

Not nearly the intimidation and/or weapon that the north endzone is or would be since the noise can't get out.

I shall reserve my opinion on the GA policy until I see if the Greek system sends pledges to save their seats or if many of the students say "screw it" and stay home to watch on TV.

Of course, if the educrats keep screwing with admissions, it won't matter when we have a student body that doesn't know a first down from "Black Hawk Down".

Based on the last game at DKR, Tech sounded a lot louder in the SEC than LHB did in NEC. Maybe SEC was a threat...

That's because the visiting band points their music toward the middle of the field and the West side. Don't know if those on the upper east side can hear them.

As has been pointed out, as long as the jumbotron is Fenves personal *****, you might as well put the LHB in Leander because they will be drowned out by the commercials and minor league baseball giveaways.
