I immediately thought of the last OU game.
Get far behind in first half.
Fight our way back and take the lead in 4th quarter.
Leave TE open for game winning touchdown.

DB dives at Diggs feet instead of wrapping him up.
Tackle in bounds and clock runs out.

3 of the 8 playoff QBs went to Texas high schools. 2 went to the same high school, Westlake.

##3 launched for the highlight hit instead of the smart play. Feet were off the ground, head was down, arms were at his sides. He should be the Vikings' MVP.

That Saints DB did a major whiff on the tackle. Make the stop in bounds and the clock probably runs out. But instead it was the play of the game for a TD. He’ll never forget it. And neither will his coaches.

Also, the Vegas line on the game was the Vikes by 5.5 points. By taking a knee at the end instead of kicking the EP, they only won by 5 and a lot of bettors tanked!

When I saw that happen, my first thought was "man, he still has time to get out of bounds." And then i realized there was no one within 20 yards of him.

It looked to me like he was going to arrive a little before the ball, and he got afraid of a penalty, so he bailed out on a big hit, and instead got that awkward glancing hit.

He may also have been thinking about a possible unsportsmanlike "defenseless receiver" hit penalty, so he eased up on the hit.

Remember, if there was a defensive penalty the clock would stop and they would get a chance at the winning field goal anyway. Or if he just stopped and watched the catch, the receiver could go out of bounds and still get the FG try. The timing was unfortunate for him that he had to be perfect for the saints to have a chance. He wasn't in position to make a play on the ball, so he had to make the tackle in bounds without getting a penalty. It wasn't an easy play for him to make.

The end result looked bad, but I think he knew what needed to happen in the moment, and he did his best to make an intelligent play. He wasn't able to execute it. I feel bad for the guy.

The whole thing reminded me of the Crabtree catch and score,,,,,,,and I hate being reminded of that.

The really odd thing to me was how poorly aligned he was, though the points above about avoiding PI or unnecessary roughness make it a little more understandable. At first it looked so bad it seemed to be the epitome of how to throw a game, especially given the line, but I knew of course he didn’t. Really feel for the guy, this kinda stuff can break a young man’s confidence if he lets it

Crabtree catch and score was irrelevant. They were already in field goal range, the catch just made it a shorter field goal if Crabtree is pushed out of bounds. Prior play, Blake Gideon drops sure interception, game would've been over then..... I think that's the game that cost us the national championship game.....because OU blew out Tech the next week.....IIRC.....

Philly is the dirtiest city I've ever been to, although Columbus, Ohio is the shittiest. I can't stand either set of fans, but give them some leeway for having to live in those sewers.

How can you go up three evolution cycles in the 10-15 miles from 13th to Bucks County?

Only two high schools have produced two QBs who will have started a Super Bowl:
    Austin Westlake (Brees, Foles), and
Isidore Newman School in New Orleans (the Manning brothers).
