That would be a shocker. Maybe 1st pick of the second round.

I say Top 10 because left tackles are about as coveted as a franchise caliber QB.

Yes but not the ones with non-surgically repaired leg issues.

If top NFL draft picks come from teams that go 5-7, 5-7, and 7-6, well, I guess that's another reason I don't watch the NFL. Oh, and playing, what, 2 or 3 games of the 7-6 season? What is the big draw on this guy?

You are correct. Williams will be one of the Top 10 OL taken in the draft, albeit mid to late second round.

I have a BBA from the University of Texas School of Business. Economics and Government should have separate degrees designating the majors. I did not mean to dismiss or demean other’s degrees from Texas and apologize. I guess the Business School superior mentality still gets the best of me and I reacted to a quitter.

Would ordinarily applaud any possibility of ANY 'horn going #1 but...CLEVELAND...that is where careers go to die. It would be different if they had ever shown a hint of having a clue at building the franchise to fix the woes of the past...decades. But they haven't.

Can I get a DILLY DILLY for the hope that he slips to #2 so as to avoid Cleveland...

if he was that fragile to play in the bowl game--then why would anyone draft him that high?

I support this statement, but, I wonder, if a team keeps getting to pick high in the draft, eventually they'll win more than they lose?

It was not that he was too fragile to play in a bowl game. CW played in the WVA game that got TX into the bowl after rehab from a serious injury. If he had taken the surgical route he would have been out for the rest of this season. CW plyed in the TT game when the bowl was not on the line but Vahe et all were injured and he played to finish the regular season.
His decision to skip the bowl had more to do with his decision to move on to NFL.
I'm sure he had plenty of medical and career advice to make the right decision for himself and his future.
    Congrats and good luck.

    Same reason McCaffery was drafted.

McCaffrey actually had a really good season before passing on the bowl game. Would CW if he wasn't hurt? People can "suppose" all they want, but we'll never know. That's why CW will meet more doctors in the coming weeks than the rest of this team combined.

The staggering amount of suckage and their corresponding high draft choices have produced a total of ONE win in two years. Let that sink in for a moment...ONE win.

Look at the number of competent skill position players that have seen careers stagnate after being selected by Cleveland. Even JFF suffered there, although his idiocy served to hasten the departure from the league...at least Colt landed in a decent position after leaving Cleveland even if he isn't getting much playing time.

I'm joining this discussion a little late, but if the Browns choose anyone but a QB with their first pick, they wouldn't be the Browns.

That said, this is a chicken or egg thing for them. They've buried so many first round QBs, maybe it's time to draft a lineman first.
