Cherry on the crap sundae that was the TCU loss? As I was leaving the arena, I held the door open for a group of people behind me - included Hannah Gusters. I doubt the outcome of 1 game would kill Texas’ chances with a recruit but it certainly couldn’t have helped.

Jewel Spear is a player that I believe has an offer for Texas. Have not heard too much about her other that the Coaches follow her on Twitter. She is definitely making some noise on her HS team as a Soph.

Deja got to 1,500 awfully fast - midway through sophomore season?

Deja steps it up when it matters as she led her team to the comeback 64-61 victory:

Caitln Clark is another 2020 recruit to keep an eye on. She's from West Des Moines, Iowa and was on the USA U16 Team with Celeste Taylor.

I have no idea if Texas is recruiting her but Harmoni Turner (#4) of Mansfield is sure fun to watch.

Harmoni Turner is having a great year. Thus far, she is 2nd in the DFW area in point production averaging 23.6 points per game and she is 3rd in assists at 4.8 per game. She also averages 2.3 three-pointers per game.

Although it is a highlight reel, this short video shows Harmoni's skills in all aspects of the game; assists, pull-up jumper, three-point shooting and is quick on defense. She plays fast, quick and is athletic.

Myra Gordon is not interested in attending UConn with her older sister.

Just my opinion, but I have never felt that Lexi would stay at UConn all four years. We'll see how things unfold for the both of them down the road. If they do end up playing together in college one day, it won't be at UConn.

Mama Gordon had a comment for a twitter responder to this tweet, when he chimed in with thoughts about Lexi . . .

Caitlin Clark scores 29 points in the 4Q to help her team win in OT. Clark had a total of 37 points in the game.

That's 29 pts in the final 13 minutes for Clark? That's some scoring.

Sarah Andrews had 34 in a 4 point win against an excellent Cedar Hill team. Neither J Merritt nor L Davenport played for Plano in a blowout win. Davenport hasn’t played in several weeks and last night was first missing game for Merritt. J Owens with 22 in a 7 point loss for Plano West. H Gusters with 14 in a blowout for Duncanville. J Oliver had 30 in a 10 point win for Prosper. Jewel Spear had 21 for The Colony in same game. Baylor is getting a good one in Oliver. 2020 recruit Spear is supposedly on Horns radar.

Flash--thanks for the summary of the games/players in the Metroplex. Have you seen Andrews, Merritt, Owens, Gusters or Spear play? If so, I would be curious about your feedback on their style of play and strengths/weaknesses.

Luther.....the only ones that I have seen is Owens, Davenport, and Merritt. And all those from last year. A lot can change in a year so would rather wait on substantial comment until seeing them soon. Merritt was really good as a freshman and looking at box scores she is much better this year. She is Texas good. I have seen Warren this year and reported on her. For sure I will get out to watch Spears and Andrews soon as they are close to home. Both are sophomores so have time. District play is tricky to find a game that challenges em. The playoffs will really be a tell. Will provide some fair and biased scouting reports soon.

Just for Luther request and ...........After pondering the Less Is More thread most of the week in wonderment, I simply have to get out and watch some real basketball tonight (through orange-tinted glasses) ! Going to see Plano vs Plano West at 6 pm tonight. J Owens is the point guard for what would seem to be very average PW team. Merritt and Davenport play for an excellent Plano squad ...........but it is risky in that Merritt missed Tuesday game and Davenport has gone MIA for a long while now. So the observations may be sketchy if those 2 don't play. But worth the risk. Be gentle with my fair and biased observations later tonight.

Well ....good plan but alas......the game is at 7:30. So gave me time to talk to a JV parent for the inside scoop. Merritt is out with ankle.........probably back for playoffs. She is in a boot. Last game on Tuesday so better heal quickly. Davenport has not been playing due to “coaches decision”. Case of senioritis. Owens for PW still has a “maturity issue” that I saw as a freshman starter. Will observe her attitude in game to see if that is correct. So no Merritt and probably no Lolo. Lolo is a Delaware commit now. Quite a letdown from UT. Still should be a good game per parent. That with 3 bags of popcorn will make for a happy evening at the gym

Looking forward to your feedback. Very curious about Merritt and Owens. Hope all is well with Lolo as I enjoyed her mom's posts on HF's.

Well....we have competition. Gary Blair is here. Talked to him at the concession stand. Told him I have 5 aggies at home but am a horn. He laughed and said he was a Red Raider. He is as comfortable as a well worn boot. What you see in TV is what you get. Can see why he is such a great recruiter. I told him to leave these Plano recruits alone and he laughed. We talked a little about potentially meeting up in the playoffs. I didn’t have the guts to ask if he was here to see Owens or Merritt. Just salt of the earth guy.

Kamaria Gipson is a 6'3 player out of Beeville in south Texas. Her club tweeted today at Coach Aston and Coach Washington:

South Texas isn't necessarily a hotbed for girls' basketball, but she is putting up huge numbers, especially rebounding:

Well the game was good. Plano up by 1 at half over Plano West. Up by 10 after 3. Left with 4 minutes to go with Plano up 14. Those 2 teams are good. Should be with enrollments over 5,000 for each. Merritt didn’t play. Davenport was in the stands keeping some sort of stats. She is still on the team but not dressing. Asked a parent and she wouldn’t comment. Owens played well. She is talented with exceptional handle and passing skills. She likes to drive and dish. Her BTA shooting was off .....think she was like 1 for 7 or so. She tries to do too much in my fair and biased opinion. Blair spent the 3rd quarter in the Plano stands talking to the varsity coach. He sat in the Plano West stands during the game.......but conveniently direct across the court from Plano’s bench. So Merritt could see he was there in my opinion.` I think both are playoff teams with Plano having chance to make noise in regional playoffs. I see Plano West maybe playing 2 rounds of the playoffs. Fun night at the gym.
