Keep it "tasteful," Eagles fans. Link. I watched the Cowboys win 3 Super Bowls in the '90s. It never occurred to me to do something like this.

Thank goodness they don't have a NFL team in Oklahoma.

Did you not see Charlottesville? I'd say that the right was violent there.

When there are riots in Baltimore, Ferguson, or Los Angeles, do you call that "violence from the Left?"

I'm not going to go through my posts to find it. I typically put forth that both sides do crap. Charlottesville is a good example. Many of who are described by Joe and others as "antifa" are just local people pissed off by the presence of white supremacists. Most of the far right "jews will not replace us" crowd were brought in from all over the country and are part of an organized movement that should embarrass all of us white folks. The guy with the aeresol can as a flame thrower for example. Whatever you say about him, he's a student from Charlottesville. The other folks are not local. I'd surmise that two pie charts would depict a significant difference in the percentage of people from outside of the state in that area at the time. What it shows me is that where nazi's gather, people also gather. See The Blues Brothers and the "I Hate Illinois Nazi's". Good news for those guys: https://www.snopes.com/2018/02/06/former-nazi-party-leader-gop-nominee/

So you think that "jews will not replace us" crowd is a national organized movement but that the Antifa people are just local folks who are pissed off about white supremacists? If that's the case, then how do you explain the presence of Antifa folks at events where no white supremacists were present?

I think they're both national movements. I mean the Boston anifi is an international movement in that it was spawned in St. Petersberg. :)

That said, I think one was more local in nature for that weekend. I think in Charlottesville it was 80% national/regional (meaning out of state) for the group with the tight haircuts and working with the "imbedded" media. I'm guessing the "antifa" crowd was more local - 80% from the region - the Skokie Nazi haters. All just guesses based upon me watching it play out over that weekend, seeing who was charged with crimes, who was injured, etc. after the fact and those who've been interviewed in since then.

Perhaps. My guess is that the people who were there because they actually cared about the statue (either for or against) were local. I think the people who exploited the statue controversy to promote a white nationalist rally were mostly from all over the country, though I think the organizer was from Charlotte. However, I don't think the opposition was dramatically more local. Keep in mind that Antifa was only the violent left wing group - the "heavies." There were plenty of other radical but nonviolent organizations present that were national.

Numbers ALSO take into account bowl games...of which there were MANY crappy crap crap offerings.

"The 2017 numbers include FBS home games, neutral-site games, bowl games and the College Football Playoff."

Also, the average drop was 1409 per game. But leave it to some to try and equate that to the massive issues that faced the NFL. While there were still seats that were sold in the NFL, it is difficult to ignore the large number of fans disguised as empty seats...

That's a pretty blatant problem with the analysis. The playoff system has completely diminished the bowl system. Top players are even skipping the lesser bowls to prepare for the NFL draft now.

Also, I suspect the actual turnstile attendance for NFL games is down way more than 3%. We will never know for sure since the NFL only publishes ticket sales not turnstile attendance.

*THIS playoff system ... has top players skipping.

If we had a REAL playoff system ... I bet a dollar to a donut there'd be better participation in the games.

Depends. I suppose if they did a March Madness type of playoff system it would encourage more top players to participate. But that will never happen in College football. An 8 team playoff is more likely to happen so I don't see that changing the trend of top players skipping the lesser bowls.

    Yes ... it depends.

I’d start putting into the scholly requirements to play every game as cleared by the team doc ... or payback the scholly.

Guys that can run fast or block hard have an extremely unique opportunity to get their degree. Yes, they work hard, but they also have an associated opportunity afforded them.
The only legitimate reason to “sit out” a game with the team is injury.

Insurance policies. Be a team player. That’s worth more than any NFL contract. You didn’t get where you are by yourself.

The ratings for the Winter Olympics are also off. I would suggest for similar reasons as the loss of NFL ratings. Remarkably, NBC seems ready to blame the black guy, which seems a dubious strategy http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5424675/Ratings-slip-causes-tension-NBC-Lester-Holt.html

I would suggest to NBC that none of it is on Lester Holt. But rather Americans are sick of getting lectured to about morality by prima donnas whose life skill is curling or skiing or ice skating.

Two things. First, the Cold War ending killed off the biggest rivalry in the Olympics. It'll never be the same as it was.

Second, modern liberal globalism is not conducive to the Olympics. National pride is the core motivator to cheer for a team. Well, if you're a "citizen of the world" or preach global citizenship as though it's virtue, then what's the point of cheering for or watching a national team or teams?

Or standing for your country's anthem?

I asked your question in here years ago and got silence back.
If you hate displays of jingoism and xenophobia, then you must really hate the Olympics and the World Cup. Which means you hate most everyone in the world. Which pretty much describes the modern liberal.

Weren't they airing events on something like four or five different channels? With some of the best stuff being in the off hours? Dividing your viewership is seemingly not a good idea. Compound that with the 'prime time' coverage seeming like it was the 'best of' events long since over with and results known and you just DON'T have ANY "must see TV" going on...

Deez says it because there are not enough Commies anymore

It's not the Commie angle as much as it's the rivalry angle. The Cold War created a natural rivalry that sparked interest and ratings in the West and the East (for all six people in the USSR who had televisions). It's the same reason why a Dallas Cowboys - Philadelphia Eagles game will get higher ratings than a Dallas Cowboys - Cleveland Browns game will get.

The open cheating in the 1972 Olympic basketball finals that gave gold to the Commies does still burn. These days, who cares if one of our ice skater bois loses to a doped-up Russian? It just doesnt matter.

I can only speak for myself here. I haven't watched one minute of Olympic coverage. First, I'm just not terribly interested in the winter sports, but I can be convinced to spend some time on a compelling event here and there. Second, though, is the fact that NBC is covering it. I refused to watch because I refuse to give those slimy, slanted liberal ******** my eyeballs to enhance their ratings.

The Closing Ceremonies also got buried by The Walking Dead

"... With a 3.6 rating among adults 18-49, the often-heartbreaking winter return episode of TWD’s eighth season topped by 20% in the key demo.

That is a 20% victory overall against the 8 – 10:31 PM ET tape delayed Closing Ceremony and it’s a 20% victory over the in the 9 – 10:30 PM ET slot where the TWD winter return went head-to-head with the NBC broadcast...."
