Not sure if you are just trying to prove me wrong, or still kissing Mulkey's *** on here. Maybe both.

That's a pretty hateful and insulting thing to say about Danielle, by the way. We recruited Danielle Crockrom very hard when she was at Northshore, as did many other schools.

She had big numbers in high school, and very good numbers as an underclassmen at Baylor before Mulkey arrived:

As a sophomore (1999-00): Tied for the team lead in scoring on the season with 12.0 a game and led the team in rebounding with 7.2 an outing...Scored in double figures in 15 games, had five 20-point performances...Tallied five double-doubles...Hauled down double-figure rebounds in six games...Led the team in scoring in eight games and rebounding in 13...Was the team?s top scorer and rebounder in eight games...Totalled 22 points, 15 rebounds, five blocks and five steals in only 17 minutes of play against Eastern Washington.

As a freshman (1998-99): Danielle was one of the most impressive freshmen in the Big 12...Despite a senior-laden roster, she played in all 31 games and started in four... As the first player coming off the bench, Danielle averaged 21.5 minutes a game...She led the team in rebounding with 5.5 a game and was second in shooting percentage at .522...The freshman averaged 9.1 points a game and 10.1 a game in conference action...Earned Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors on Feb. 22...Recorded three double-doubles including back-to-back performances against Oklahoma and Colorado, 11-12 & 14-11, respectively...Led the team in scoring twice and in rebounding seven times...Recorded 14 double-figure scoring games and three double-figure rebounding games.

Before Baylor: Played in the Texas High School Girls Coaches Association All-Star basketball game...Played on the South team who won by two in overtime...Joined Baylor freshmen Hilary Akromis and Eboni Hammond on the South team...Also spent part of her summer playing for the Houston Hoops AAU team...Lettered in basketball, volleyball and track at North Shore High School...Played basketball for Vivian Dancy...Scored 2,506 career points as a prep...As a senior she received numerous honors: Nike All-American honorable mention, TABC first-team All-State, TABC first-team All-Region, Houston Chronicle All-Greater Houston first team, All-Greater Houston scoring champion and District 22-5A MVP...Junior season was named: TGCA second-team All-State, TABC second team All-State, TABC second-team All-Region, All-Greater Houston second team and District 22-5A MVP...Her sophomore season Danielle was second-team all-state, second-team all-region and first-team all-district...Averaged 26.0 points and 10.5 rebounds a game as a senior...Shot 55.6 percent from the floor and 62.8 from the charity stripe...Scored a season-high 44 points against Baytown Lee HS last season...Top all-around game was 33 points, 21 rebounds, six steals and two blocked shots against Baytown Sterling HS...Also had 35 points, 14 rebounds and seven steals versus Baytown Westbrook HS.

Sheila Lambert came with all kinds of accolades in high school and had signed with Washington; Lambert's two years at JUCO under Brock included plenty of individual recognition:

Before Baylor: Junior College - Comes to Baylor from Grayson County College (Denison, Texas) with impressive credentials...Was a two-time NJCAA first-team All-American...Two-time Region V- NJCAA Player-of-the-Year...Two-time Northern Texas Conference MVP...Averaged 23.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 7.9 assists as a sophomore

High School: One of the best players to come out of high school in Washington...Played at Chief Sealth HS in Seattle...Earned Washington State Player-of-the-Year honors in 1998...Named to USA Today High School Parade All-American team...Set or tied eight state-tourney (3A) scoring records including most points in a game (42), steals in a game (9) and most total points in tournament (128)...Four-time metro scoring champ...Four-time all-metro and three-time Seattle Times All-Area...Averaged 25.7 points, 12.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists 4.0 steals a game as a senior

No.. not kissing KM's butt at all. You, on the other hand, seem as though you can't get your point across without attacking and bashing. I'll agree that my exaggeration of Crockrum's skill set was a little harsh and certainly could've been better stated. I was attempting to express my level of surprise in the difference in her play... not just statistically but the fluency and flow of her game. You can sit up and try to throw statistics all you want.. bottom line is you're STILL WRONG... KM did not inherit two All-Americans from Hogg. Period . So again... NO! I admitted I was wrong about what I said, so why don't you save your breath and do the same.

By the way... BAYLOR IS STILL KICKING OUR BUTTS AT EVERY TURN! I'm not okay with that, and the number of years I've spent following this program entitle me to say so.

It's ridiculous that people can't even offer an opinion on this forum that differs from sunshine pumpers like you without being attacked. You're as bad as the rabid right-wingers who feel their ideas are the ONLY ideas that matter and try to cram them down everyone's throats. Live and let live already. Geez! :rolleyes1:

Thank you, Moooooo. You've given the definitive history on this. Case closed. Not the Mulkey genius in DEVELOPING players. They were already pretty fantastic. Obviously they got better with more experience, but that happens with most hard-working players and has certainly happened with most of ours as well.

Where did I "attack" you in this thread or "bash" you? By suggesting you are once again kissing Mulkey's butt on this thread? Okay. You sure do like to talk her up more than any Longhorn poster on here. You insulted Crockrom for no reason whatsoever; that's on you. And, I am far from a sunshine pumper. I know our program is not perfect, and has many flaws. I just choose to express my criticism differently than you do. I consider myself objective, but I am also aware that many folks outside our Longhorn community read this forum.

In case you didn't know, the posters on the Baylor message board just loved your post-game rants on here after our first loss to Baylor; their lurkers couldn't get enough of how you were on here basically damaging the program you supposedly support. I think the term they used was "eating their own" as they soaked in all the negative things you posted. If that was your intent, you succeeded immensely. As I stated in that thread, "with fans like you, who needs enemies?".

Yes, I didn't correctly recall all the exact details of when Mulkey took the job at Baylor as it was back in 2000; that's why I stated "IIRC" (which stands for "If I Remember Correctly"). Of course, you pounced on the parts I didn't remember correctly.

Crockrom was already at Baylor and had completed her sophomore season (but, had not been an All-American; I was wrong). I thought Lambert had been signed by Hogg, but she was a JUCO All-American; I was wrong. Regardless, Mulkey had two juniors on her first roster at Baylor who were very talented; neither were true freshmen who Mulkey molded. They had very good junior seasons; if you think that was all due solely to Mulkey after just a few months, that's your opinion. I'm pretty sure their previous coaches deserve a lot of the credit, too. What happened two years later when those players moved on? Baylor went WNIT.

As I researched Mulkey's first months on the job at Baylor, I had no previous idea that she had been recruiting Lambert for Louisiana Tech. I had no idea that she hired Bill Brock from Grayson College to be one of her assistants, and in turn she coincidentally signed three JUCO's who he coached there, including Lambert. That's quite a coup for a first month; can't say I ever recall anyone landing a foursome like that.
