Beating Baylor - Big 12 Tournament Championship

Here are my thoughts - what are yours? No earth-shattering observations here:

• Drive the basket and get Brown in foul trouble early. Teams have only kept it close when Brown is on the bench.
• Keep Holmes and White out of foul trouble - and get points out of Holmes like vs. WVU
• High-scoring game from Atkins, Brooke, Sutton.
• Wear them out. They have no bench . Hopefully their legs are a little tired.
• Smart substitutions by Karen.

 

Good observations.
We also have to understand that Cox is going to be the main player to defend the basket when we drive.

Even if we don't get to the rim on those drives, if we can make those short jumpers like Ariel does so well and LaShann and Sug also do, we will be okay. Jatarie has been looking better with her post footwork that should allow her to score against Brown whom she will be primarily matched with.

The main thing is to hit our shots from the get go. We won't dominate inside but we do need to get production from our posts to compliment our guards' scoring.

I still want to see Chasity go head to head with Morris.

 

I think the key will be to Hope. Baylor is just a better team.

 

Might as well just forfeit, then. Why play if we are just going to lose?

Glad the team doesn't feel that way.

 

They are vulnerable. Good coaches exploit vulnerabilities. They’re without one of their best players and have a short bench. Exploit.

 

I would play a packed zone on Baylor.
And make them hit Outside shots.

The TV analyst said that our guards will pressure the Bear guards to prevent entry passes. This is surely an option.......have to change something.

 

I always hope we will win. Don’t you?

 

Honestly. I think that is the only way. Looking forward to another good game and a new career high for either Brooke, Arial or even better - both.

 

Mulkey is just a horrible person. She just has to knock the other team’s players doesn't she? No class. Horrible representative for her institution and the sport and women in general.

 

Kim Mulkey’s comment before halftime “That’s 10 All-Americans over on that bench.” She’s obsessed with Texas. Can barely even shake Karen’s hand before the game. Class act.

 

Wow....Can I call BS about that interview with Mulkey at the half??
Why say that? Man I wanna win this game to see some form of humility from that person...

 

Instead of making it about her players, she knocks ours. No other coach in the game does that. She might have left the trailer park, but the hitch is still stuck in her a**.

 

Horrible or horribly appropriate considering it’s Baylor?

I’m sure Baylor’s coach threw some shade on Texas during the halftime interview.

Coach, it went up and down, a lot of possession going both direction. Your thoughts on the pace of play.
“My little young ones playing hard aren’t they? That’s ten all Americans on that team over there and they all healthy. I’m playing with what? Two starters on the bench with fouls. I might have to put another manager in tonight. Hey, let’s go play.

 

You will never see Kim show humility. Meanwhile Karen simply talks basketball during her interview.

I missed the referee shenanigans but the team has bricked five in a row.

 

Then you missed the refs wrapping up a gift for Baylor. Aston should let them have it in post game and take the fine.

 

I cannot believe the ref had the f*&^ing audacity to call that. They'd been piss poor down the stretch and allowing the game to get way to physical. And to shift the game that way at such a crucial moment is just mind numbing. I would love to give her a piece of my mind

 

dang, that four point swing due to the technical really hurt. Not hitting a shot in the last minute and a half didn't help.

Great game, though. Both teams should get deep runs in the NCAAs. Cox is really good. Nice to see Jatarie figure out how to score against Brown and Cox.

 

Don't know that I want to listen Mulkey in the post game.

 

She's such a phony. A put-on... she reminds me of Bruce Pearl. Just over the top sanctimony and self-importance.

 

That was a bullsh_t technical foul call.
