We are truly blessed to have this kid on our team. Of course I don't know him, but what I see from him in post game interviews... Totally humbled, humility, polite, articulate, charming, witty, and on and on. The young man just has way about him. A magnetism. Too bad he won't be around a few more years. Makes me proud to be a Longhorn!

I'd love it if he made a totally unexpected (and probably stupid) decision to play college ball one more year.

certain kids (and I use that term loosely) need an extra year of college, whether it be for maturity physically or socially-wise---they should all take this into consideration---thankfully my kids both know that they need the maturation scholastically to further their careers...

His big toe is injured. He played 15 minutes today against osu.

Does he play against ku? I say no. sit him, play him at home against wvu, where we have a shot to win.

Or, if his toe does not respond by wvu, then sit him there too and play him in the B12 tourney.

Or, if his toe still needs more time sit him untill the NCAA. We have nothing to gain by pushing Bamba.

Let his toe heal, if it will. His time in Austin is rushing to an end. I would like to see him play at least one more game healthy.

If this is a turf toe type injury then we might have seen the last of him in an Longhorn jersey on the court.

From what I've read, it's not a turf toe. It's some sort of sprain. I forget the details and am too lazy to find the link.

I'd be pretty surprised if this keeps him out for the rest of the season, but he clearly wasn't ready to go yesterday and if that's the level he can play at on Monday, he definitely needs to sit and heal.

Regarding Saturday's game with wvu: Any news on Bamba's toe injury? Day to day? Out? Playing?

My understanding is day to day. Me personally I think he is done here. I say that knowing I've been wrong on almost every prediction this year.

Heard this morning he isn't making much progress and the toe is still pretty jacked up. With other "rumors" out there I'm now betting he doesn't play tomorrow.

He's gone full NBA Draft preparedness. At this point, I'm beginning to think that we'd still have Rick Barnes and a much better team if the one-and-done rule was never instituted.

That actually might spell doom. When he is in the line-up the team seems to lose focus by relying on him to make super plays. Without him, the team seems to stay focused and play harder.

So he is back tonight and they are playing exactly like last night. Not sure Shaka knows what he has and how to use him.
