While we moan and whine about not going to the ever elusive "next level", and Rick Barnes has them in a frenzy on Rocky Top, there is the UCLA Basketball program.

    UCLA BRUINS BASKETBALL
    Basketball Royalty
Playing in the weakest P5 Conference in basketball
    The Westwood/Brentwood/Surfer boy attractions
Playing in Historic Pauley Pavillion that has just had 70MM renovation
    and.......

.......they are playing in Dayton in the Last Four In/Play-in game.

The farther down you go, the better you remember the view from the top.
There is nothing more pitiful than a dynasty in decline.

'Tis better to have loved and lost'.

You make an excellent point but sitting on 11 MNC's in the sport, as a fan, I'd be pretty tolerant of a case of mediocrity here and there. They've been to the Sweet 16 3 of the last 4 seasons. Their current decline should be short lived once the cancerous Ball era is behind them.

Win the remainder of their games, and no one will care that they had to play in.

    Well said.
The message is the same for all 68 teams in the dance.
Let's go win our first tournament game, continue and win our last game of the year. Then, no one can debate our consistency, coaching, ranking, seeding or conference.

And how did that go for them?

Not well, but the game did validate their seeding.
