My bracket is screwed. Actually, all of my brackets are screwed. The funny thing is I thought "'Haha well at least I didn't have Virginia even making the Final Four anyway". Later on I checked online and I actually had them winning the whole thing in one bracket. I don't remember doing that. I was not drunk, drugged, or dangerously sleep-deprived when filling it out. I didn't think UVA would do very well and so I know I wouldn't have picked them as the champion. I wouldn't have, but I did. :/
I picked a Duke, so I'm technically still alive, but I had Virginia in the final 4. I also had Purdue (starting center broke hand/wrist) and Michigan in the final 4. Neither is looking too good so far. I don't care about my $5. I just don't want Aggy to win
Not exactly news, except perhaps that the online brackets all got busted in the first round. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/i...-madness-brackets-have-been-busted-2018-03-18
I had one bracket I put together solely because Mom needed one for a knitting group she participates in. Despite having lost Wichita State and Virginia early (both of whom I had going to Final Four), we still had several teams alive elsewhere. We got home from eating on Sunday to learn that the Syracuse win had vaulted her to the top of roughly 30 entries in the group... And then Cincinnati, North Carolina, Xavier and Auburn happened...and I had Xavier winning it all. The buzzer dagger from Michigan also hurt since I really did believe UH could have made the Elite Eight. The only two we still have alive with a shot at the Elite Eight is Tech and Duke. I also had Duke going to the finals. Considering I really didn't follow the season, I was generally content at my guesses in the first round. Not sure I would change many of them...
I had Villanova winning it all (over Arizona), all of the rest of my final four is already out and only six of my sweet sixteen and three of my elite 8 are even still in it.
Right now i feel really good about my decision to not fill out a bracket at all this year. I can just sit back and enjoy the mayhem.
Eh, there have been other years with similar numbers of upsets. If you had Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, and Villanova doing well, you're probably still fine.
