Well 4 of Jalie's 6 seasons as an assistant were under KA, and TT had no previous coaching experience at all. So if Karen didn't develop them, then idk who did. But you're entitled to your wrong opinion.

This is a Message Board, so everyone is able to voice their Opinion.
If you go to the game's or watch them on TV. Just look at the face's and body language of the Asst. Coach's after they talk to K. Aston
Our Asst. Coach's are not always leaving because it is a Promotion.
I don't think she is listening to their Ideal's.
I would like to see better Coaching though.

Can we steal Ruth Riley back from Las Vegas or San Antonio or wherever she is? Great post player...Kara Lawson was a PG, Jamie Carey was a PG, IMHO, another PG turned Coach not necessary?

Coach Aston is the one who got Tina into coaching; she saw Tina's potential. No one else had the stones or foresight to make the move Coach A did, or had the persuasiveness to reel her in to a college coaching staff. So, everything Tina learned about college coaching was basically from Coach A. Too bad we have a handful of posters on here (not all Texas fans) who want to discredit Coach A at every opportunity.

    Mooo or Kurupt.
I am true Texas Fan since 1983, when I first seen Jody coaching Texas.
Don't get mad, it's just my opinion.

The thing is, you have no FACTS to back it up. You are basing everything on your ability to interpret body language (in short spurts, and probably not the entire interaction). And, if you are watching the play on the court, there is no way you have time to focus on every interaction between an assistant coach and Coach A.

And, as far as FACTS, every assistant coach who left Karen's staff has gotten a HEAD coaching job; so, that's a "promotion" in my book especially since none of the three had ever been a head coach in college before; they did not leave for a lateral position. I'm sure they each, at a minimum, doubled their salary.

Not that it necessarily is a big factor for recruits, but I think UVa is probably the single most beautiful campus in the country, and I've seen nearly all of them. 17th is way too low on that referenced ranking.

I’m not a big fan of the University of Virginia it’s self because of the founders history. But they should be a lot better in women’s basketball when you consider the great academics and the great basketball talent in Virginia and the surrounding area.

Considering the political turmoil in the administration the last few years, the failed firing of the school president, the turnover, I am thinking that 17 is a very favorable rating.

Yes, I am very familiar with the school, and was once a donor. Since they passed on Bill Shenkir in favor of Casteen for president, and installed do-Littlepage as AD, and Jon Oliver (look him up under cocaine/crack arrests at Boise State), it has been a cluster and amateur hour in Charlottesville.

I believe the rankings Ellis21d referred to were of campus beauty only.

There are certain patterns that indicate staff unhappiness or lack of cohesion. Look at Texas Tech this year with an assistant suddenly departing, with the coach fired a few weeks later.

I think that Karen and her staff get along well. As mentioned earlier, each coach that has left has gone upward in terms of their career. No one has made a sideways move to be an assistant at an equivalent school.

As for the all encompassing "body language", I guess the viewpoint is in the eye of the beholder. In a tense active game, of course they're all frowning and stressed out and maybe not having hugs with each other.

Again, this is a free forum, so........[shrug]

Another attempt to shut down independent thought on HF? Really? Since when is having an opinion different from the majority a cause for name calling? That's funny. Please send me the link to the board rules that say, "All posters must agree on all things, all the time?" Seriously - the way some of you respond to divergent views and good debate is strange. If we're all going to agree on everything we should just say DITTO to all posts and move on. It's a message board. So, those attempting to squash open dialogue should build a board and clearly state that the ONLY PERMISSIBLE posts are those that are consistent with Member #____. Good laugh today. Thanks.

You don't need to apologize for your opinion. Every post on this forum is an OPINION. Some folks seem to have trouble accepting the fact that no one has to agree with them.

Like I said, state it as your Opinion. Example, IMO Karen doesn’t listen to her assistant coaches. And because of that I THINK that the coaches are leaving. Nowhere did I say that you couldn’t give different opinions than mine no matter how ridiculous they may be. :)

It is my opinion that nobody needs you to tell them how to word their posts.

No wait, that’s fact, not opinion.

So. You don’t think it’s important to word what you say the right way so that an OPINION about something doesn’t come off as being a FACT? OK.:idk:
