On the one hand, I like seeing any $EC team get beat. But on the other hand, it’s hard for me to root for Tech. They are outstanding at thumping their chests, yet have done absolutely nothing to merit such a high opinion of themselves. Plus my former boss is a Tech grad, and she created such a hostile work environment that I had to leave a career I loved because she was so mean to me.
Ditto, and I've been thinking about what would be best. Here's my hope ... Next round --- Horns beat Gators, Tech beats Piggy, that would eliminate Gators and pit the Horns in a one-game elimination with Piggy while Tech waits for the winner. Horns would only need to beat Piggy once to eliminate them (PIggy is 3-0 against the Horns this year). Horns would then need to beat Tech twice (which they already did in conference play) to advance to the title series. Alternatively, again assuming Horns beat Gators, if Piggy beats Desert aggy, then Horns would have to beat Tech only once, but piggy TWICE --- not likely. For the Horns to make it out of this bracket, gonna have to play Piggy either once and eliminate them, or beat them back-to-back later on. Uh, no. Hopefully the Horns got their yips out of their system yesterday. Since Pierce rotated just about every pitcher he had (seemingly) to get them used to the mound and the excitement, pretty much all except Kingham should be available tomorrow depending upon circumstances.
I have absolutely no problem pulling for Tech, and I am a member of The Florida Foundation and UF Alumni Association. Now neither will get my support over The Horns, but I can live with either winning the CWS if we don't. Anne, every school has it's ******* alums, as well as more than their share of dumbasses. Hell, Tech has Kent Hance, but I can still pull for them, just don't ask me to be in the same room with the chickenshit son of a *****.
I have one son at Tech and one at UT, so it's no problem for me. Tech actually exposes my son there to a lot less PC BS than UT so I've got no problem with them.
Except for Berzerkley, is there any school in America that doesn't fit that description? Guess where Berdahl, Powers, & Fenves went to school.
Tech winning makes aggy crazy, almost crazier than Texas winning because they see yet another Texas school with more wins in Omaha than they have ever. So there is that.
After graduating from UT I went to Tech for law school and loved the place. Their students and alums are typical boisterous west Texans. And Aggies hate them Wish them the best
I'm late to the party, but (like many graduates of Ropes High School, 20 miles from Lubbock) I got my undergraduate degree from Tech. So I always hope they'll do well in Omaha and am disappointed when they don't. I hadn't considered the added bonus of aggie misery--that's a good point.
