They don't think much of Texas period. I guess the real question about Johnson was why was he not chosen to be in Dallas for the Big XII meetings?

I like it. Rather be unheralded and blow them away than heralded and fizzle.

True statement. And not just with football. Dallas and Austin have become quite competitive it seems...or at least Dallas has.

" .......... The Longhorns have moved Jamison despite the freshman not having much of a track record as a receiver. The 5-10, 180-pound Jamison scored seven touchdowns during his senior year, but only one of those scores was registered on the Texans’ offense. According to Houston Lamar’s MaxPreps page, Jamison did not record a reception in high school.

Jamison does have some offense in his background. In 2017, Jamison told the American-Statesman’s Mike Craven that “I switched positions to play defensive back at Lamar because we’re known for putting cornerbacks in college. I was a running back before high school.”

With his size, Jamison likely projects as a slot receiver. Reggie Hemphill-Mapps’ transfer in the off-season cost Texas 37 receptions at the position. UT worked out junior Lil’Jordan Humphrey, senior Jerrod Heard and redshirt freshman Jordan Pouncey in the slot during spring practices.

Texas coach Tom Herman will speak to media members on Tuesday."

Thanks Joe. I guess this comes under WR's earn more than CB's in the NFL.

This seems very odd to me. Maybe they were trying him out on KR or PR or something and some coach noticed that he catches everything and never misses. Otherwise, it just seems like he busted out on the only position he ever played in HS. For such a high recruit, it just seems odd.

IT says players have been holding fastest man races at the end of the voluntary workouts.

Kris Boyd wins the most. John Burt, D'Shawn Jamison and Devin Duvernay are the sometimes winners.

IT says the "quickest" is either Jamison or Davion Curtis.

I'm not seeing how many can bench press 500. Probably because there aren't any.

I saw this too, only by a re-tweet by Gary Johnson. Don’t care for Sharpe, Warren Sapp, or their comments. At least one player has taken notice. You know the whole team will hear about it.

Funny retort by one guy asked Sharpe ... then why did you drop so many. Lol.

Next best was ... 300 lb o linemen are pretty heavy. Lol

    Herman at Media Day:

When asked about the new redshirt rule, Herman said he will deal with it as it comes: “If you get banged up early in the season at a couple of different positions, and you know those guys are going to back in four or five weeks, then you play some of these young guys and then put them back on the shelf. If not, ideally, I think you want to wait until the end of the season to when you know historically you’re going to get pretty beaten up and worn down. Hopefully, you’re able to use a lot of your skill, and big-skill guys, especially on special teams.”

Hadn't really thought about the RS rule being used at end of season, but it makes a lot of sense, particularly if you're thin somewhere. If you can work a guy for the first two months and get him ready to go, then start rotating him in for snaps in the last two or three games plus bowl game, that's a nice little developmental path. Granted it's easier to sneak them in early against bad teams, but it would be nice to have that in your pocket for one of those years when half your RBs are injured and the other half need to take a load off their legs.

TE Malcolm Epps has been working at outside WR
According to TFB, this is "due to his current weight."
The roster says he is 6'5,230
