football was meant to be played on grass...........Herman has some concerns about how it will stand up if they do it. https://www.hookem.com/story/going-...SND&utm_medium=Facebook&utm_campaign=bevobeat
Meh, grass vs. turf is not a thing for me in football. The players rarely play the ball off the turf, it's not a "thing". Now, baseball can be a different story!
Remember our last grass field? Or the Reliant Stadium grass, which had to be replaced every week? Both had sod flying during the game, no firm footing, as well as brown spots. Turf is hot, but more importantly it's just a matter of time before some former player sues over "having to breath methane gas escaping from the artificial turf" and/or "having to inhale the carbon black flying up". Next will be the environmentalist bitching about the artificial turf is leaching oil into the ground under the stadium and polluting the creek.
Every 5A/6A HS kid plays on the field turf now too, so I don't see a huge reason to make the switch back.
Football is different from baseball - turf is the best for football. Why to wealthiest athletic department in the country has turf on Disch-Falk boggles the mind.
