I can’t wait for this season. I need my Texas longhorns women’s basketball back.

With Sedona out, Charlie should have the opportunity to get enough minutes to be a serious contender for Big 12 FOY. Although Joens may end up starting for ISU and OU will certainly at least one-two frosh starting as well.

The team looks like they are in great shape. Zack's second year of S&C is paying off. The players seem to be enjoying it.

I know several of us have commented on the obvious work Joyner has put in but Jada seems to be right there with her. I thought she actually looked slower her sophomore season compared to freshman but she looks to be in phenomenal shape now. She has a tough-nosed approach to defense and good rebounding instincts - if she has recaptured some of her quickness in addition to the obviously added strength, we could see a very different player this season.

I would love to see Jada have a breakout season. She is one of my favorite players on the squad.

I think that Jada would be more effective if she played some at the PF position. Hopefully Coach Aston will give her that opportunity.

I think we got a gamer with this young lady. Can’t wait to see them all play — a lot, I hope!

Well, there's the WNBA playoffs which should provide entertainment through the next three weeks at least. Then the Women's World Cup begins in mid-Sept and ends Sept. 30. That gives us about two weeks before the start of official practices which, hopefully, will once again be open practices.

Joyner came in second but she probably could have won if she didn't let up at the end. Good to see her and Jada working out when they are between semesters.

Sedona is getting around pretty well considering she just had surgery. Good to see her back enjoying team activities.

Got curious about what the Horns lost and what they have coming back. Not a complete listing, just the top returning players. Ariel and Brooke are listed in red for comparison purposes. Numbers listed are rank among Big 12 for last season. No numbers, stats are pulled from the UT season stats instead. I included Danni as well since I was kinda curious about her stats for last season. Her rankings are for the SEC.

Horns lost a lot in Ariel, Brooke and Audrey-Ann but I like what I see coming back, plus those frosh look ready to contribute.

To be ranked, a player must appear in at least 75.0% of their team's games.
