His supporters love him for his "...point a cannon at you" approach to the office though.

South Park's creators were ahead of their time when writing this. Trump would only need to change a few lines (e.g. Democrats, sushi)

I am advocating that the NFL should have made a good business decision by not offending large segments of their customer base. I would have thought the same if it was a guy wearing a "Blue Lives Matter" hat during the anthem as a form of counter-protest.

Why is it not applicable? The NFL has chosen to restrict their player's freedom of expression because there was a good business reason (lucrative licensing deal) to do so. For some bizarre reason, the NFL did not think there was a good enough business reason to restrict these inflammatory protests. I think they have finally realized that they made a huge mistake. I will be surprised if these protests are still allowed in another season or two. The bleeding will be too much.

When they are on the property owned by the team, they are being paid to do a job. What they do in the community, in terms of a protest, is not what people are upset by. What people ARE upset with is their polititarding on the sidelines.

It is no different than most normal people, no matter their political affiliation or belief, being expected to do their JOB when at the workplace. If you are trying to protest at the workplace, I EXPECT the employer to sanction the employee up to and including firing their sorry asses...and if this means jettisoning some perceived 'star' athlete, then so be it.

Was really surprised how democrat-heavy the league was until I looked at the cities, and it became pretty obvious. I'm curious how they did the survey, whether they focused within the team's home city or they surveyed fans around the country.

You asked a good question on methodology of the Survey Monkey poll.
here is the criteria FiveThirtyEight , Who commissioned survey monkey , had used.
    "
To quantify the political affiliations of each team’s fan base, we commissioned a SurveyMonkey Audience poll of 2,290 American NFL fans in early September

Specifically, the poll was conducted among a national sample of adults ages 18 and older from Sept. 1 to Sept. 7. Only responses from self-described NFL fans (including those who labeled themselves “casual” fans) were included in the analysis.

It asked them to list their three favorite teams, as well as the political party with which they identify. Sample sizes ranged from 526 respondents who put the Green Bay Packers in their top three to 41 for the Jacksonville Jaguars; the average margin of error +/-7% according to the traditional formula, even though this poll technically uses non-probability sampling.

That's the key...the cities these teams reside in. These are the fans that are subsidizing the stadiums and live among the players/staff. Not sure how the survey was conducted but the vast majority of NFL team reside in liberal leaning cities. Another point, it's the corporate suites/suits that are the most profitable fans. Think those are city or country dwellers.

At some point it would be useful to do a correlation study between political affiliation and the willingness to participate in random internet surveys.

It does not explain if the 2290 fans lived in the NFL cities.
It only says it sampled people who self described as NFL fans and to name their 3 fave teams plus the political party identification.
That seem like a pretty loose poll.

Liberals have nothing else to do but attend rallys, promote hatred and complete surveys so I wonder what that correlation coefficient would be?

Kareem Abdu-Jabbar compares forcing blacks to stand for National Anthem to slave owners forcing slaves to sing while they picked cotton! You can't make this stuff up.

I didn't know that the Denver Broncos had offered Kaepernick a $7million/season contract before the start of the 2016 season. He turned them down.

When asked why the Broncos didn't sign Kaepernick as a backup for this season, Elway replied that he had his chance and turned it down. Good for you John.

Amusingly enough, it was Pam Grier (total hotness back in the day) who refused to marry Kareem because she was "unwilling to live a subservient life where everything but her hands would be covered when seen in public" as he required for his newfound religion.

Is there a liberal alive who is not a hypocrite? Has there ever been?

Certainly not in Jabbar's case. He had a son with a Buddhist. They weren't married. He could "date" non-muslims, but not marry them.

He's written several whacky things in the Hollywood Reporter.

I don't understand the need to compare slavery or the perpetrators of the holocaust to anything that is happening today. To me, it is a clear sign of complete emotional impairment. Yet these people seem to be held up as rational people exhibiting rational levels of outrage (rational outrage: the predictable outcome of any sane mind confronted by true horror).

The new ESPN president claims he wants less politics at the network:

    ‘It is not our jobs’

    Too late buddy.

And, in any event, he still gets it wrong. Banning the anthem is not the solution

Pitaro also has told the league that ESPN does not plan to air the national anthem ahead of its Monday night telecasts. .... “They have not asked,” Pitaro said. “But we have proactively just as a courtesy and as good partners let them know what our plans are.”

If any of you were looking for a chance to get in, apparently there are some NFL teams for sale.
The idea is that some owners think the NFL has peaked

By the way, Pam Grier was much hotter than Farrah Fawcett. By the way, @Phil Elliott , if you disagree with me, you're either racist, gay, or both. Lol

We get it, we are all very sorry you could not get into the real UT and had to go to fake-UT. But continually taking your hurt pride out on Farrah, who could and did get into the real UT, is a bad look.
