Cyera Hintzen scored the winning goal off an assist from Katie Glenn two minutes and 38 seconds into the first OT. The goal was disputed as the head umpire(?) overruled an offsides flag to allow the game winning goal. #21 Texas moves to 2-0-1 for the season while #23 UCF drops to 0-1. Horns come away from the road trip to North Carolina 1-0-1 and play next on August 30 (Thursday) vs Long Beach State at Mike A. Meyers Stadium at 7 PM.
What a Great game! Texas absolutely dominated in the second half. UCF did have there opportunities though. Texas kept attacking and attacking. Those girls have to be in unbelievable shape to maintain the pressure they put on UCF. Cyera Hintzen is a scoring machine. She has scored all of the goals for Texas this year! Going to be a Great year for Soccer!
Texas went to sleep after scoring in the first half, and let UCF back into the match. They played hard in the second half but could not get the ball to go in.
Thanks for the correction UTex. I should have said Cyera Hintzen has “scored” in all three games this year! I just get so excited and out of control following any UT victory!! Hook’em!!
