I'm guessing playing down to the entire stadium from the north end zone they will be heard better around the stadium than Texas playing from East to West. It would suck carrying a tuba all the way up there though.
Yes, it's true. It's where the Trojan Band (or the traveling version thereof) was seated last week. Keep in mind that last year the visiting bands were seated in the lower east stands by the south endzone while the LHB was stuck back in the NE corner (section 17 or 18?) I like the way things are this year with the LHB being in the lower east stands on the south 10 yard line.
That's a dick move, especially if they're going to perform at halftime. They'll have to spend the entire 2nd quarter getting down to the field, and the entire 3rd quarter getting back to their seats.
No, it’s not. The visiting fans and band were moved to be inline w/ B12 standards. This was articulated in the off-season by the athletic department.
Maybe so, but funny at the same time. I'm all for taking any kind of home field advantage we can get.
Its "conference standards" to put the visiting band in the worst seats in the stadium? What rule are we adhering to so we would be in compliance by putting them there?
In addition to specifying where the visiting band sits, they also mandated that the visiting school has to buy a ticket for each band member.
Apparently other schools were better treated by Texas and did not reciprocate when we visited. When CDC wanted the band and students to be closer to the field, the visiting team and band were moved to upper deck per policy of the schools we played on the road.
If this is true, I am going to buy CDC the best steak dinner in history. "We'll be nice, oh, you don't want to reciprocate? No prob!"
While I think it's an unsportsmanlike move, particularly considering the size of Memorial Stadium., they are sitting in the middle of the tickets allotted to TCU.
