Some predictions on what will happen next -- there appear to be many folks, including many women, who believe this woman has zero intention of actually testifying - ever.

Gonna be a long week for DC commuters

Radical anti-Kavanaugh activists from several national leftwing groups planning to bus in protestors and hold protest-training program in DC on Sunday & then stage massive protests and disruptions next week on Capitol Hill to intimidate senators ... details to come ...

I will not testify on a boat,
I will not testify with a goat.
    I will not testify,
    Here nor there.
    I will not testify anywhere.

I will not testify first. Or last.
I will not testify slow or fast.
There's nothing more for me to say.
    I can't remember, anyway.

I agree. I bet she won’t testify. Her job is done. She earned a merit badge from the #meToo movement to pin to her pink ***** hat.

She threw a monkey wrench into the proceedings and stained Kavanaugh’s reputation for life. Now she can rake in millions with her book deal and talk show appearances.

Only good thing I can think of about this confirmation hearing is that if Judge Kavanaugh is confirmed, he must now hate the Left with a purple passion.

    Wait
I am sure I read that when she "remembered" the alleged attack in at her therapist her husband said she was afraid Kavanaugh would be a supreme
    in2012with obama as Pres?

This is a "**** or get off the pot" moment. Giving her a chance to testify this week is fine, but beyond that, they need to either confirm Kavanaugh or bail. And if they bail, don't be candy-asses about it. Have Trump nominate Amy Barrett. She should have been the nominee anyway.

They can hold the vote either way. No reason for Kavanaugh to not become a supreme

If Clarence survived likewise Kavanaugh. It won't be pleasant. The damage is done. He just has to stand in there as does Ford.

This is not a criminal trial. But the damage is enormous. He has a family. No matter what the truth may be, they were subjected to this accusation.

But Moonves wife believes in him. She's a Liberal isn't she? It's all so ridiculous...

Be prepared for a profanity-laced tirade. It's Oktoberfest season im Deutschland.

The damage is done, but this is ******* ******** and needs to be put to an end for the sake of the democracy. You should not get a pass to defame somebody just because he is a public official or public figure. Kavanaugh won't do it, but he should sue for defamation to force the issue of New York Times v. Sullivan - the case that made it almost impossible for public officials to sue for defamation and destroyed a fair media. It's a ******** decision that needs to be overturned, and this pattern of BS needs to end.

I hear you. It's really bad. I mean here it is:

    1) He said she said
    2) No proof
    3) Allegation timed specifically for maximum impact
    4) He is damaged professionally and with his own family
    5) She is a hero to the Left
    6) The Left blatantly gets away with hypocrisy (re: Broaddrick, Jones)

Today, Ford kind of, sort of "accepted" the Senate invite to testify. But her "acceptance" was with conditions not yet agreed upon, so technically not an acceptance. I would call either a conditional acceptance or probably more accurately a counter-offer.

For what its worth, Debra Katz is not just part of the “Resistance” but a hardened socialist activist. Here she is at an at anti-Trump Protest in front of the White House shouting 'resist."

Why does simply telling the truth require so much preparation?

They are setting the narrative for whatever Ford does. If she doesn't testify, it'll be spun as justifiable because Republicans put too much pressure on her and are unsympathetic to sexual assault victims. (In other words, they'll imply that Kavanaugh is guilty.) If she testifies and does well, they'll spin her as a heroine who endured questions from a bunch of misogynists bullies like how they spun Hillary's interviews before Congress. And the standard will be very low. Basically anything other than a complete meltdown by her will be viewed as a roaring success. If she has a big meltdown, they'll call the Republicans a bunch of insensitive pricks who bullied a sexual assault victim. (Again, Kavanaugh will be presumed guilty.)

    Well stated

The role of the press should be verification, not validation.
Rape is a devastating crime. So is lying about it.
It’s not victim-blaming to get to the bottom of the truth. It’s liar-shaming.

So the accuser came out with a female who the accuser said was at the house. The 3 men she named all said there was no incident.
So the accuser surely can count on the female as being there.
Uh nope Leyland Keyser through her attorney denied having any recollection of any such party or being at a party with Kavanaugh

Remind me why we are kowtowing to this liar?

The Republican "leadership" is more worried about looking good to MSM and liberals than their base.

Michelle Malkin is usually too shrill for my tastes, but this might be the best article she has ever written. An issue like this warrants combativeness and belligerence. The idea that a gender should be believed and that evidence should be disregarded (which is exactly what Kavanaugh's opponents are advocating) is insane and dangerous.

Ford has agreed to testify on Thursday, but some "details" still remain to be worked out. Link. I won't believe it until I actually see her in the chair and talking.

This needs to be the end of it, because she's basically doing everything she can to drag it out. The goal posts will keep moving, and she'll find a reason to delay.

Also, it appears that Ford is the one who's insisting that she be questioned only by senators rather than by female (and presumably more empathetic) attorneys. If this was really about protecting her from "trauma," she wouldn't be doing that. What she's clearly doing is being a tool for Senate Democrats. Very obvious at this point.

The irony is that the people who are accusing the GOP of putting on a show trial are doing exactly that. Their goal here is to make a bunch of old white men question a sexual assault survivor and show to all the world that they don't care about sexual assault. Regardless of how it goes, there's just no sympathetic way to ask someone who claims they were raped "Can you clarify this part of your story because you don't seem to have a good memory of the events?" The only way to approach it and not seem uncaring is to accept her testimony at face value with no questions that might indicate that there's an issue with her testimony.
At the end of the day, I think the politicians in this fight know that they still can't really do anything. It's all on the GOP. So all they can do is ratchet up the heat and build as much political capital out of it as they can. If it puts the woman through the ringer, then so be it. Amazing how they can complain about insensitivity to her safety and emotional needs when they were more than happy to leak her name against her will (which is assuming this wasn't her plan all along, and frankly I'm a little skeptical of that as well.)
What's scary is that they have the base so worked up at this point, that they really believe that this woman is credible, her story is clear, and Kavenaugh has to be dumped. When that doesn't happen, it's going to get really ugly, and the only questions are one, how violent will it get, and two, will this backfire on the entrenched Dems who are going to be completely abandoned in favor of the most wild-eyed progressive socialists that the base can find?
