    4th_floor Dude, where's my laptop?

He is spending money not far in excess of what he is taking in. I think the swampy congress has a little bit to do with that.

He has the veto pen and is involved in the process. Nobody is innocent.

I've thought more about this Liz Warren thing, and I've reached some conclusions. First, no remotely fair or serious person thinks that DNA test did anything but discredit her. If she's an American Indian, then virtually everybody is an American Indian - and a white guy and a black guy and a Chinese guy and just about everything. Hell, I might be 1/1,024th gay or trans. Who knows? The point is that it was a stupid thing for her to do and a stupid thing for her publicize.

Second, I don't think she did this to get at Trump. It's being framed that way for obvious reasons, but I don't buy it. She was much better off just leaving it ambiguous, calling him a racist, etc. and just letting Trump keep acting like a jackass about it. I'm sure he laughed the DNA test off as everybody should. (In fact, I think Trump should send a check to that charity for 1/1024th of $1 million.)

I think she really did this to signal to her Democratic opponents in 2020 that they better not get into this issue. Of course, the current Democratic Party is in a massive race obsession probably unparalleled in political history, so any attempt to question her "status" as a minority is going to be risky in the Democratic primary. Because she can claim to actually be Native American (at east if you follow the "one drop rule" (or more like "one tenth of a drop rule")), that'll muddy the waters on the issue enough to keep other Democrats for calling her a fraud.

Would that be a smoke signal?

Yeah but the problem is that within their own ranks, Dems can show convenient moments of lucidity. Like you said, any sane person gets that her claim is ridiculous, and most importantly, it's even MORE ridiculous than some of the stuff Corey Booker says - even the thing about his made-up hoodlum friend.

The best theory I've heard so far is that she's putting herself in Trump's cross hairs so that the base sees her as Trump's adversary, and she can come back and talk about how she gets under his skin, and she's not afraid to tangle with him. The only other option to me is that she was so sure the media would cover for her or not read past the headline and the first paragraph (the latter was absolutely true, the second was true until it became impossible for them to keep the narrative going) and that people were so stupid that they'd just go along with it, that she could bluff her way to credibility.

One of the few things social media has done positively is that it consistently punishes that mindset.

Any sane person? We're talking about Democratic primary opponents. They see this issue wildly differently than we do.

After watching the Texas Senate debate last night, anyone else think O'Rourke is intentionally trying to mimicking Obama's mannerisms and speech patterns? It seemed fairly obvious to me.

Castro or Beta will have to settle for the VP slot. A woman pres is overdue according to dems. Since Fauxahontas is imploding, that means Kamala "Nasal" Harris will lead the ticket. Nasal / Beta 2020 is my prediction for the demo ticket.

The question isn't if Beto is copying Obama's speech patterns and rhythms. The question is how hard and long has he been working on it to get so good at it?

That is sad. These people are crazy.
I had 2 signs pulled from my yard. Wish I had video of it.

I like that Fox asked permission to use the vid on all their platforms.

I think Cruz should use it too.

I think self-contradictions in the same post are funny. I think you are funny. I hope you stick around.

The in-between part of your post sums it it well for y'all. You dont offer anything in the way of specifics. You certainly cannot hang your hat on any of your election-predicitons (Trump will not run. Trump will not win. Trump will start WWII. Trump will destroy the planet. Trump will start a nuclear war. Trump will jail all Muslims. Trump will get us into another ground war. Trump will destroy the economy. Trump will tank the stock market. Trump wont do anything for black Americans. Trump will make the US a puppet of Russia. Trump will never do what he said he would do, and so on).

It must suck for y'all. The economy is going gangbusters and you have no choice but to hate it. That is a serious ouch. How conflicting it must be when you open your 401(k) statement. Trump is filling up the federal judiciary with judges who respect the Constitution. He slashed federal regs. He curbed the EPA's violation of Separation of Powers. He armed the Ukraines. He's made more serious inroads with the NoKos than any president in history. He got us out of Obama's idiotic Iran deal. He re-worked trade deals with Canada & Mexico (+ several others). He has China on the defensive. He increased Euro funding of NATO. He squeezed the life out of ISIS. He has not gotten us into any new ground wars. He put the US Embassy in Jerusalem. In short, he has done what he said he would do. The couple of notable exceptions to this are mostly beyond his control -- and y'all dont care about those things anyway. In terms of substance, it has been a successful first two years by almost any measure.

So what is left for you to complain about? You dont like it that he won the election. OK, but that's the way it goes. It's been 2 years, time to move on. But what does that leave? Which gets to the heart of it, because it is not really any of the actual substance of what he has done, is it? Your post, probably unintentionally, did a fine job of exposing it for what it is. You got your feeling hurt. His tweets upset you and cause you to remain in a constant state of being upset. Basically, y'all are just pouting and acting out. It's 100% emotional. And, speaking for myself at least, we just dont care about that -- it's something for you to work out internally and grow past.

The hatred towards Trump is a continuation of the hatred shown towards Reagan, both Bush's, McCain/Palin and Romney. Trump has made it easier because he deliberately attacks the Left and provokes them. He just doesn't care what they think because he knows their hatred of all things Republican will be imputed upon him. The extremists we have seen on the Left deserve ridicule. The socialist and open border supporters deserve to be put in their place. The hysteria is a sign of mental illness as they want total power. There is no sharing of power with the extreme Left.

As an example of this mental illness, my 81 year old mother has been dropped by two life-long (and I mean life-long) friends and her two nephews (my cousins who she helped raise because their mother was a poor single family parent) solely because she supports Trump. One of these cousins (67 years old) drops F bombs all over his Facebook page about Trump. I would be humiliated by him if I were his son. And you know what? His children want nothing to do with him. I know this for a fact.

These people to me are sick. They are gone mentally. And yet they think they are progressive. I'm not making this up. It is unbelievable to me.

Yep. In the political scheme of things it's basically normal people(conservatives) vs the unhinged(liberals). It wasn't always this way but it is now. Many old school libs have pretty much said "no" to the modern democrat party.

I was around for Reagan. It was crazy then too. The most obvious differences being no internet and the lack of widespread cable TV -- which made it easier for the rest of us to insulate ourselves from their whining. But they hated him with a passion. They were saying the same sort of things then they are saying about Trump now. From the same place -- visceral hate. Even got Europeans to protest Reagan. They were wrong then too, every one of them, but they never actually ever admitted it.

They do praise Reagan now. They say "Yeah, Reagan was a great president." As if it is stating the obvious. What they dont say is "... and we were all wrong about him at the time. Sorry we drug the country through that." Funny how that works. What will they be saying about Trump 35 years from now?

I have a neat party trick I can do with a Land of Lakes carton. Girl in Austin taught me years back in the day. When you invite me over to your house, I will do one for you and leave under a magnet on your fridge.
