What does "[Texas lacks the resume of a $EC team" mean? Texas has played (and will have played by the end of the season) a schedule harder than any $EC team by any measurement.

What I want to know is how 10 teams are likely to get 4 spots. :ousucks:

it means some people like to talk out of their a$$ as if what they are saying is true based on generalities and perception, not facts.

It means the author is just another in the long line of $EC sycophants who refuse to call the conference out for it's 8-conference-game schedule and its parade of FCS opponents.

If the Horns win out, they are in. Same for OU, or West Virginia.

Having said that - someone needs to administer beat down to the Leprechaun.

Which 3 teams on the 'horns schedule match up with Clemson, Alabama, and LSU? Miss State beat KSU. Ole Miss beat TT. Arkansas is crap and so is Kansas. Auburn is arguably better than Baylor or TCU. Kentucky and ISU or OSU is a draw. I'm not seeing it.

Which team on Texas' schedule matches up to:
    - Arkansas State (Alabama)
    - The Citadel (Alabama)
    - Southeast Louisiana (LSU)
    - Austin Peay (Georgia)
    - UMass (Georgia)
    - Charleston Southern (Florida)
    - Idaho (Florida)
    - Alabama State (Auburn)
    - Furman (Clemson)

I could list the Low Group of 5's for each that would equate to Tulsa. However you cannot find a schedule for anyone that surpasses SC, TCU, K-State and ou in a 4 week period.

All of them. Problem is that's one game per team except for Florida. That's not the same thing as one team playing all the teams I listed. Not even close.

The difference between an SEC team and Texas is that we schedule no FCS teams while they sometimes schedule two or three for their OOS.

The reason they get away with this is due to the perception that the SEC is so good that it makes up for the easy non-conference schedule.

I screwed up the positioning of the reply but the point remains the same.

By the way I agree they should go to a 9 game conference schedule.

Florida and Auburn were the only two to schedule two this year.

Somehow my first reply to Military Horn disappeared. Basically no SEC team has ever scheduled 3 FCS teams same season and 2 are few and far between.

I saw your reply the first time.

Although, you are correct about the frequency, my point remains that we don't schedule any FCS teams and my other point about perception. Even though the other teams are FBS teams they are usually the lower tier of non-power 5 conferences.

I like our OOS, it is mostly power 5 and one marquee team. Yes, I know we also schedule two games from other non power 5 conference sometimes.
