Just pondering a few things for this coming weekend that, however unlikely, are not entirely out of the question.

#1 Bama is not losing at Tennessee
#2 Ohio State is not losing at Purdue
#4 Notre Dame — bye week

#3 Clemson loses to #16 NC State
#5 LSU loses to #22 Mississippi State
#6 Michigan loses at #24 Michigan State

Do the Horns move into the top 4 on a bye week?

Its likely that the winner of the Georgia- Florida game jumps back in front.

I can see Meatchicken losing, but both LSU and Sons of Klem losing at home is bit hard to grasp. Like your thought process though.

I was just looking at this weekend. Georgia & Florida don’t play until the next weekend 10/27.

You know I don't even care right now. Right now just thinking about winning the conference title. With games @OSU, @tech, WVU and a 2nd game against either WVU or OU, there's just too much chance for another loss. I'd be tickled pink with an 11-2 record and CC and a New Years day game. This team is not ready to play Bama. We don't have the talent or the depth. We'll get there as long as we keep winning the game right in front of us.

In that case, I don't see how they couldn't move us up to #4.

Nobody else there to jump us. This week, anyway.

You think Aggy is freaked out now!

Like someone said, “that’s why they play the game.” I would be thrilled to play Alabama and to let the chips fall where they will.

Herman shouldn’t have beaten FSU, OU or Louisville while at Houston, but he did. In fact, his team dominated all of them.

Most believe we shouldn’t have beaten OU this year, but we did.

I don’t know what the rest of the year will bring, but I do believe we have the ability to win every game. Not saying that we will. Just saying that we could.

So bring on Alabama. Like every team, “on any given day...”

I don’t believe in “waiting until next year.”

This is all I want Saturday, and perhaps all that we might need.

I believe there is a reasonable probability.

I looked it up and was surprised to see that MSU has won 8 of the last 10 against UM.

Curious about the record of that series. Meatchicken leads it 69-36-5.

I'm not scared to keep moving up in the polls.

    Are we Texas, or not?

We are Texas, but this isn't a top 5 team. Every year there are pretenders who rise in the polls beyond their true level. If we get into the top 5 that would be us. I'm not uncomfortable saying we belong in the top 10...

nc state and Michigan state could very well pull the upset. I don't think Clemson makes it through the season undefeated at some point Lawrence will look and play like a true freshman and eventually Ohio state takes care of Michigan even if sparty doesn't.

I don't think Ohio State is a given against Purdue. It is a road night game. Remember Ohio State spit the bit against Iowa last year on the road.

This is college football, so you never know!
No one is immortal. Bama could lose one this year.

(but it won't effect their CFP status, and might somehow allow for alll 4 CFP teams being from the SEC :idk:)

Fpi says we finish 10-2. That was my prediction at the beginning of the season but when we lost to Maryland I changed my prediction to 6-6. Boy my hopes went down. Now they are back up there again. What do I know!:yikes:

Anyone think Texas could be Ohio State? I mean besides me.

I watched the Ohio State TCU game, and I saw Texas dominate TCU, I not only think Texas can beat Ohio State, I think it would be a sound whipping. I think Ohio State is as much a pretender as we are.

This year every team not named Bama is a pretender.

I say, climb as high as you can, if it takes us to Bama, give it your all and let it be a life lesson and preparation for future meetings.

Damn, Rondale Moore is as good as advertised, accounts for 45% of Purdue’s TDs. Big, I mean huge, decommit last year

Maybe, but that's a little too transitive-property for me. We've struggled with several inferior opponents now - Tulsa (who just got shutout by Arkansas), KSU, Baylor, and we tend to play worse as the game goes on. If we played a bunch of other top 10 teams I think we'd rise to the occasion more so than we have against some of the crap teams, but our issues would mostly bite us in the *** in the end. I expect we end the year somewhere around #15.

Let me be more specific. Texas has faced much better offenses than Ohio state has, we will face another one in West Virginia. The Texas defense can hold them under 30 pts. The Texas offense can pass on their defense, I'm not sure how well we can run on them, but I know we can pass on them. It would be a close game but if Texas wins the turnover battle I think Texas wins 38-24

Column in today's Dallas News shows the struggle that Texas has in North Texas. Gist of the article is ou rounds the table and wins the CCG they are in the CFP; Texas runs the table and wins the CCG they don't get in the CFP. Difference is what a great coach Riley is. Kids and their parents up here read that type crap about ou and aggy all of the time. I realize it is not Herman's fault, but he has to come up with a plan to get back in the game up here.
