To be completely fair, Sophomore Colt and Sophomore VY, who were showing signs of greatness but hadn't attained it yet, were both in their 3rd year in a well established program, having benefited from redshirt years.. Sam is in his 2nd year of a growing program.
I just cant stop glancing at the cool yet kind of creepy baby Sam in the Sams Club pic. Its like hes watching everything I'm doing while staring into my soul.
Staring into your soul? Nah. He's just taking account of who will return his double hook'em (and who won't)...
The thing that amazes me about that picture is the accuracy of how it captures his essence. His nature may not have changed much if at all.
Dude is balling. Not quite Colt. Definitely not Vince. But he is a gamer, and a winner. We’ll take it.
Maybe my days out here at the executive ranch should be re-evaluated. This is ponderous man, reeeealy ponderous.
Sam, double hook em and all is having a story book career so far. He has two 4th qtr comebacks on his resume unless I am forgetting one. He is no Vince running but even with Colt in that department. As a passer, how much will he improve next year and in 2020? He isn't leaving early! He could end up the best passing QB in UT history after his senior year. I would not be surprised at all if he wins a Heisman in the future. Even a natty is not out of the question. Depends on recruiting and development. To me the future looks very bright!
Admit it here and now, you've been distracted.... spending too much time analyzing and evaluating the talent at the the Executive Ranch Bordello!
I was an early believer after the "year ago" OU game. He just had the "it" factor and his mistakes were easily fixed, as they were from "over competing". I got tired of defending him here, but someone had to. He is passionate, talented and could go down as maybe the best or 2nd best QB ever here to play at Texas. If the D would of played 60 minutes for every game, he would be going to New York this year. The Heisman is a farce, so who cares about that. But Sam is a lot better as a complete package than Grier and Murray ---who are front runners. If we get the D up to snuff, and LJ stays, we could easily make it next year to the playoffs.
Here is my Ode to Sam There once was a quarterback named Sam whose balls were as big as a ham His passes were bucks His fans went nuts And this is why, OU still Sucks
