If we can win conference titles and get in Natty conversations we should be able to get anyone who doesn't involve bagmen.

Mack is pretty much in a class by himself as far as a recruiter. You can see what he is doing at UNC is just like he did at Texas. Locking up the state. NC is not as deep as Texas. Herman is not an elite recruiter. Mack is doing his without the wins at UNC. I have had the large posters here state that the recruits have to sign with Texas and its tough to get it thru to them that if Herman was a good recruiter, that point would be mute. Again, hoping the new coordinators are a positive so that Texas has the upper hand !!!
Good post. Not to be the grammar police, but I think you mean the point would be moot. I totally agree with you, Mack is a great recruiter. The results speak for themselves. Just getting that QB a few weeks after he got the job is stuff of legends.
Yeah, two #3 and a number#8 short class is really loafing. I mean just look at his average recruit rating! What a loafer! If only Herman were an elite recruiter. By the way, which school in the B12 signed the lone 5 Star recruit last year?
but he cannot recruit in Texas like Mack did until the end. That can be good or bad unless he gets beat by ou, or Baylor or TCU with squads full of Texas kids.
Mack got all of the Dave Campbell's Texas High School Football All Star recruits he wanted, even at the end. Mack just did not evaluate them. Herman is light years ahead of Mack on player evaluations, both on and off the field.
If we saw the same kind of defense played in the bowl game displayed every game of the year then I would be in agreement. An interesting statement came out of the replay of the UT/USC national championship game last week in that there were 30+ NFL draftees between the 2 teams and Texas had its fair share. Since the 2009 team, our NFL drafts have had very few Texas players so either we recruited wrong or did not develop. Charlie was just terrible so bring on the haters. Obviously a nice guy and the kids liked him but he is a terrible head coach. Herman has issues as well so I look forward to see him as a "head coach" since he is stating he is no longer in the OC position. If he delivers and we see a better product, I will be just as happy as the rest of you. If not, his seat will get very hot as CDC doesnt seem to suffer fools.
Yes we signed one 5 star from Arizona and I am happy to have him but atm signed 2 5-stars from Texas & Ohio State signed the other 5 star from Texas. Obviously you think Herman is a great recruiter, the Texas kids just don't agree with you.
The question for Sabre and Joe Fan- is the issue the Texas kids; the Texas HS coaches; or other schools just paying handlers off?
