If that occurs, Texas will be playing in the Sugar Bowl against the highest rated $EC team not playing in the CFP.

I don’t care who we play in the CCG. Right now I want to see us beat the crap outta Kansas. It’s a road game, and we have two losses to teams we should have mopped the floor with - OSU and Maryland. Get that 9th W first. Then, I still don’t care who we play. Bring the “A” game to both and finish 10-3 regular season.

And how many of us picked 9-3 and playing in the conference championship game? I know a number of the optimists did.

After the Maryland loss my expectations for the season were pretty low.

It would be good conversation after the KU game, to have a new thread to revisit our pre-season predictions - remember who predicted either 9-3 or 8-4.... plus poke some fun at those that predicted 12-0, 11-1, 7-5, 6-6.

I will admit after the MD game I had terrible visions of 6-6 my own self.....

    ou sucks
Odd, I didn't see "our friends" agricultural & mechanical college of Texas on the list?

    And you won't.

A few years ago, Texas Agricultural & Mechanical University officially changed their name to Texas A & M, eliminating the references to agricultural and mechanical.

    Now A & M doesn't stand for anything.

Of course, we knew that all along.

After Maryland I thought 4-8 was realistic, after Tulsa I thought 3-9 was on table, the change coming out of the USC game was incredible, that said this team is 3 plays away from 5-6 and 2 plays away from 10-1 so this season really has been roller coaster and hopefully it is headed to positive finish.

I agree with much of this post^^^. One game at a time; and i would be lying if I said that KU isn't better this year, is playing decent at times, with a very good run game. Focusness is required to get the win.

But I don't think it's accurate to say that "we should have mopped the floor with osu and Maryland." They are much better than ku, have played some excellent teams very close, and come out with their share of wins. Especially osu.

ku isn't as good as osu, and we should whip up on ku. ku will play hard, give it their all; but our guys know whats on the line. The Horns will be ready. :hookem2::hookem2:

I've been thinking all along that was the game Herman officially took control of the offense. There was a pregame reference on the radio Saturday before the ISU game wondering what Herman would do with Beck after the season since he is an overpaid QB coach.

Let him stay, recruit, and sort paper clips right to left and left to right, anything that keeps him away from the offense

If his QB coaching is responsible for the difference between 2017 and 2018 Sam, he may not be so overpaid.

You're not alone, Dion. I was about as pi$$ed at UT football as I have been since Mackovic lost to Loserville and Rice.

Yet another feat for Herman’s second season. A Big 12 CCG that includes Texas and is a top 10 battle

I love college football again. :coolnana:

Ohio State will make the playoff assuming they win the Big 10 championship game. I'd bet the house on it. They are too powerful off the field and their destruction of Michigan will give the committee the excuse that they are not the team that lost to Purdue.

If Georgia wins, they would almost certainly be in. But frankly, I’d like to see UCF.

Re tOSU, yes, they destroyed MI, but what about Purdue, NU and Maryland? Those performances were very ugly.

If OU gets ranked in this week's top 5 CFP and we beat them again, couldn't we argue that we should finish in the top 6 of the final CFP ranking.

The committee has already shown that loses don't really matter nor does winning your conference much less your own division within your conference.

I don't buy the argument that it is based on who is the best four teams. Why doesn't the committee view the conference games and Championship games mini playoffs and choose the best four Conference Champs?

That to me seems more credible than choosing Alabama, regardless of season results, and three other teams.

This year Alabama is legit, but last year they shouldn't have been included since they couldn't even win their division. I mean if you are going with the argument of four best teams, why even have conference championship games since you are going to choose a non champion participant to play for a National Championship.

Why not have one final ranking after the first round of the playoffs to pick what you think are the two best remaining teams out of the four that played.

The SEC gets to much respect in regards to what happens in the regular season. In almost every other case, besides Ohio St., OU, Clemson, and Michigan, you lose and you're out of the conversation.

They just need to come out and just say that you have to win your conference to be considered or expand to eight teams or all conference champs plus five at large teams.

I like the all conference champs plus five, since there is no one who can argue they didn't get a shot at winning it all.

I'm tired of hearing about the Boise States getting screwed out of major bowls playoffs etc. Wish they hadn't lost their top dog but if they beat Memphis put em' in against Bama and lets see how great they are.
