Also, the unemployment rate among African-Americans fell back to its all-time low (first hit in May) of 5.9%.

I don't always get the nuances in a jobs report but nothing in this report suggests the economy is tanking like I know MSM will report.

Dems MSM leftists hate of Trump overpowers them to ignore the good employment news for minorities.

Heather Nauert will replace Haley as UN ambassador
From my perspective, she seems both tough and articulate

    this seems reasonable
"I propose, then, a seemingly drastic but actually far less destructive way of paying off the public debt at a single blow: outright debt repudiation. "

Jobs reports are nearly always trailing indicators of economic performance. Job growth is shouldn't be downplayed but needs to be put in context.

Investors still fearing a slowdown like 2008. They are way ahead of themselves, by 3 years at least. Pansies.

You expect anything less from Trump? Clearly attractiveness is at least a required qualification for a public facing role in this administration. No Janet Reno's for this admin.

Not sure what you are asking? They are good metrics but are lagging economic indicators. They are a measurement of how well we've done, not pointing to our future outlook.

This quote was a future looking statement thus looking at lagging metrics don't support the quote.

Here is a good overview of leading vs. lagging economic indicators.

    Believe me
MY issue with Reno is not how she looked
Funny YOU are the one bringing her attractiveness up.

Of course unemployment figures are lagging. Is there any other way to report them?:rolleyes1:
You said good unemployment figures need to be taken in context. What context can employment figures be taken in?
So unemployment is at HISTORIC lows for most of the year including last month
and YOU don't think it is significant and good for minorities?

You used a lagging indicator to bash "MSM" for making future looking (read: leading indicator) statements. That's not logical. I tried to be nice about it.

I never said they were bad. Looking back they are good. Ironically you even said you didn't get the nuances of the jobs report.

If you're looking for a reason to beat up the MSM, which I think is the case then this would be a more accurate statement:
Of course, you also know that the MSM not only hasn't been reporting that but won't report that. They use the leading indicators to demonstrate the future is cloudy, which it is. If you disagree with them or want to bash them then use leading indicators to demonstrate where they are wrong. Absent that, you are comparing apples (lagging) to oranges (leading). The rearview mirror doesn't look so bad and hasn't since 2010.

I don't know that it's required. He has hired Kellyanne Conway, and at least by conventional standards, most wouldn't consider Sara Huckabee Sanders to be hot. However, being hot is certainly a major factor for female officials. Hope Hicks probably epitomized that. She basically looked like a super model but had little real use and prett bad judgment.

I question Nauert's qualifications. She was generally a media figure until Trump took office. However, I also questioned Nikki Haley's qualifications, and she ended up being a bright spot. So who knows?

But you're right. Definitely no Janet Renos.

He's honest in the sense that he doesn't pretend to care about the debt like other politicians have. However, these people who say it truly doesn't matter or that it's smart to default, try to renegotiate, or monetize the debt are crazy. If that sort of thing is on the table, then creditors are going to be less willing to loan us money, and interest rates will have to go up.

And let's suppose we pulled off such a heist. What if the entire debt got written off? Would it really help us that much? No, because the real problem is political. We don't want to tax as hard as we spend, so in time, we'd be right back where we are now - a big national debt. The only difference is that we'd have a higher interest rate, because we'd be considered a bigger credit risk.

I forgot about SHS. You are correct but she is the exception rather than the rule. KC is merely average, IMHO. If you compare the women in leadership in the current admin with those of its predecessors there is no comparison in attractiveness.

The new Chief of Staff looks to be Nick Ayers

General Kelly is an honorable guy and served his country for decades. He did a great job as Chief of Staff. But he is not a vicious political operative. And this position is highly political.

Ayers is more of a political killer.

For day to day work, she's wasn't a bad AG. She got political at times but probably less so than any other AG since except Sessions.

I did a small project for her. As mentioned, she was terrific one-on-one.

However, she was not really qualified for the job. But then Bobby Kennedy was even less so. And he did alright.
Also, my first thought when her name comes up is almost always Waco. We had some rather large arguments in-house about that.
    Second thought is usually ....

True, but Trump has been in office for 2 years now so he deserves a lot of the credit. Especially considering the economy continues to do well without the zero percent Fed interest rates that Obama benefited from during most of his administration.
