My gut says high 20s to mid 30s. Bama will get pressure with 4. Something we couldn't do. They are also better in the back 4. Ky Ky has shown he'll throw a pic and gut says Bama get a couple of turnovers. 55-31.

I too am thinking KK and ou get a serious beat-down.... something like:

    Bama 56
    ou 23

This is what I think too. And it won't even really be that close. Bama takes the lead early and OU scores some trash TDs after the contest is decided.

I thought a [name Bama's score] - 17 level beatdown was what we were in for in the Sugar Bowl a few years ago. I was wrong. And, don't sell me the "Bama came out flat" line. They came out strong and scored in 4 plays. Derrick Henry looked like he was going to run over every Sooner on the field. And last year I thought UGA was going to treat us like they were Schilinger and we were Beecher. I was wrong.

They play the games for a reason. I lack confidence in a win....but, you never know.

With all due respect to ou posters here, I've never pulled for ou to win a game. The problem is, if ou beats Alabama then it reflects well on the conference and takes a dump on the sec sec sec. The conference needs ou to beat Alabama, plain and simple.

However... The evil twin on my left shoulder tells me to root for a Bama blowout, with Kyler crying on the sidelines after the game not wanting to congratulate Tua and their defense....The Good Twin on my right shoulder just high fived the evil twin.

    Can't pull for ou. Sorry.

I hate this game. I can’t pull for ou in anything ever. I can’t stand the $ec and there minions at e$pn touting the greatest league there ever was when it is really bama, Georgia, sometimes swamp aggy, or another interloper. No different than the big 12 south through 2009. I don’t think bama will blow ou out. The fighting kyler’s will score maybe not at will but enough to keep it relatively close. Satan will probably stick with the running game to control the clock and I just don’t see ou stopping them at all unless the defense becomes different players between now and then. Lower scoring than expected, along the lines of 41-30 bama. I just hope ou gets screwed by the refs again and again and again.......

He didn't seem all that fine right after the first one was over. :D

I just don't see Alabama being a team that needs to conjure up bulletin-board stuff to be able to play their best in a playoff game.

And I don't think that has anything to do with why we won. Vince Young just did what he would have done anyway, with or without the Trophy, and our defense made one more big stop than theirs did.

I feel you. Even with my inoculation of over a decade of friendly hornfans banter, I can't really pull for you guys either. I've tried. Then, next thing I know I'm enjoying watching Maryland roll or I'm gently displeased when the horns pull one out. I think it's just strong parenting. :)

I can report that I'm very torn when it comes to OSU v. UT.

I certainly would never wish harm on a college football player, but I must admit that it would be interesting to see how Kyler responds to some hard play. He has avoided direct hits all year and the few times he received measurable contact he gets up complaining. It’s like he thinks the defense should handle him with care.

If Saben’s D line does their job and the rest keep him bottled up, he will recieve the most physical play of his career. If he get’s into the open, he will run free until it is time to slide to protect his little butt. It will be interesting to see how well the OU line can protect him.

OU Bubba, I had to look up Schilinger/Beecher, showing my lack of current knowledge. I agree that no one knows what happens until they prove it on the field. Against arguably the best defense in the country, OU/Alabama will show what's stronger, Big 12 offenses or SEC defenses. I am a Saban fan for his relentless pursuit of excellence, but know his Achilles heel is mobile quarterbacks and no huddle offenses, so we'll see. And don't lie, I KNOW you want Texas to beat Georgia! :e-face-tears:

Well, they made Hager look like a JV player. I’ve never seen someone get tossed around on numerous plays like that in college football. He needed to be subbed without question after that facemask.

That would certainly lead to some fun conversations with the SEC folks.

Imagine if both OSU and Baylor win as well.

Bama's defense beats down most teams they play. They will beat on the ou offense all night, but it won't keep ou from scoring. murray will have a big game. He'll look the part of the Heisman winner.

but ou still won't win. Bama's offense is not shabby. They will murderate the ou defense. bama will not punt more than once. Bama will turn it over though. and this will keep the game close enough to make it interesting.

Bama will score at least 60. Seriously. ou is held under 50. An entertaining game, especially for horn fans (like me) who love fun games where ou loses.

Here are some thoughts on the OU-Bama contest:

Seems like Heisman Trophy winners rarely fare well in their bowl games:
    Advantage Bama

Bama has the best defense (by far) that OU has faced:
    Advantage Bama

Bama hasn’t faced an explosive offense like OU:
    Advantage OU

Bama is pissed that their guy, Tua, was overlooked in favor of Ky-Ky:
    Advantage Bama

Bama has the best balanced offense OU has faced, including a QB (like Vince) that has something to prove. And they have a powerful ground game.
    Advantage Bama

I don’t know what’s going to happen and I will concede that Bama has not faced anyone like Kyler, but then again, OU hasn’t faced a defense in the same zip code as Bama. And remember, with a good defense but nothing like what OU will see, Texas held OU for most of game one, and still under 40 points in game two.

As I watched the Bears completely shut down the Rams explosive offense last night, I thought about this upcoming game.

I have to say that if Bama doesn’t flex it’s muscle and dominate, I will be surprised. When they lost to Manziel and TAM in 2012, the Tide got surprised. I doubt they’ll get surprised on the 29th. But then again, perhaps wonder boy Riley will outcoach the Master. Stranger things have happened.

    Bama 52
    OU 24

    But how healthy is Tua.
He limped out of his last game and it did not look good.
He may not be that mobile.
Not that Bama doesn't have a decent back up.

Bama will get their licks in on him, and may even make up his mind between baseball and football. The real question, however, is how big of a mauling will the Alabama Offense give the ou Defense? By the 4th quarter, the game could be ugly with the ou Offense playing from multiple TD's down. That will expose Murray even more.

Given the number of teams that Alabama was able to hang 50 or more on this year (only two of their first eight games were under 50, with the low being 39), I fully expect to see them put up 50 or more on the land thieves.

Even taking into account the issues against Georgia and the fact that Tua went out with an injury, I just don't see them being under 50.

'bama gave up 126 in the first 10 games and slacked off in the last three, giving up 66 in those. A lot of the points given up on the season came when the scrubs were in. They were monsters in the first half of just about every game this season.

Accepting that the land thieves are probably the best offense that Saban will have seen this year, I would not have a problem with the premise that they give up 35 or so...after all, they DID give up 31 to the pig people even if they shut out LSU.

Over/Under on the game is 81 and Alabama is giving 14 based upon the line I saw this morning. I think it will be over and Alabama will cover the 14. I'm calling it 64-37 in favor of 'bama.

And, in other calls...I see Kry-Kry getting planted a half-dozen times with two or three picks to go along with the sacks.

Another motivational factor for Bama’s D is the fact that folks like Todd Blackledge have claimed that OU’s OL is the best in the country. While they did plant Hager like a rag doll a few times, I suspect that may not be the case in the upcoming game.

Hes not even close to having the mental makeup to play MLB. For Kyler, its the NFL or knocking off liquor stores. Ill enjoy watching the beatdown. Every time I watch it.

Kyler Murray is not like anything Alabama has ever seen. I admit he’s never been hit, but there’s a reason for that. He always is, and will be against Alabama, both the quickest fast-twitch and fastest high-end speed guy on the field. I think Bama will have it’s hands completely full.
