ESPN recruiting class rankings before #1 Haley Jones makes her decision.

Since she is not considering a Big 12 school, it won't impact Big 12 rankings. Strange not to see Baylor and/or Texas among the top ten, much less not in the top 20 for this class.

Recruiting can be cyclical with both Baylor and Texas ranked #1 and #2 in 2018 recruiting. I think sometimes a 2019 player may look at what's in front of her and decide to go elsewhere. I look forward to the Big 12 rivals to have monster 2020 recruiting rankings.

On top of that, although they may not have a ranked recruiting class both programs are still bringing in very talented players in Celeste, and Jordan Oliver. Most of the recruiting rankings are based on quantity and not quality. The players that they’re bringing in fit their programs.

Just to close out Texas offers, Haley Jones chose Stanford.

Wow, great recruiting class for Stanford. UConn missing on so many of their targets has to be disappointing for them.

UConn only has a one player class this year unless they get a JC or transfer. Guess the Boneyard is melting down, saying that Jones wasn't really offered or that she is not UConn material or unwilling to put in the work to be all she can be. :lmao:

Someone explain to me why teams in Texas may have played 10 or more games already and teams like LuHi just played their first games. Teams in Texas like Duncanville will have a record like 34-1 at end of season or similar and other states will have played totals in the low 20’s. Guess different state rules but why?

Tri State area teams are not allowed to begin or end any sport before or after whatever season is in session so for basketball it begins in the winter session which begins November because fall sports end in that month. Spring season begins April so all winter sports are done in March. Coaches can not coach high school team out of season but there are some loopholes like you can form an aau team but either way can’t count or be played as the high school team. There is also a cap of 25-27 games high school teams can play as well

I’ve seen very little of her during the summer but from the little I’ve seen she is around 5ft 7in guard who can handle the ball, make good reads rebounds very well (obviously) and plays good defense with a developing jump shot. I expect to hear a lot about her in the coming years. I am trying to make it out for my annual She got game tournament in a few weeks so I will get a better look if I make it but In the meantime I will be watching the art turner tournament this weekend on the live stream I do it every year. I sign up and pay the monthly fee then cancel after the weekend. Would be good for Texas fans to get to watch Celeste play which will be an interesting matchup against Ashley Owusu who is headed to Maryland and in my opinion the best point guard in the 19 class. Also a lot of other interesting games and players Azzi Fudd vs Christ the king with Marshall. A lot more great players to many to mention all. Here is the schedule, I will also post the tweet with link to watch

Thanks for the tip about the Art Turner tourney. There will certainly be several marquee match-ups over the weekend. I hope to watch a few of the games.

If you have time, I would enjoy reading your thoughts about the teams and players after this weekend's games.

    Games of interest are:
Saturday 1130 am Ossining vs Roland park Aubrey Griffin (UConn) vs Mir Mclean (2020) two of the most athletic kids you’ll see play high school basketball Mclean should be on Texas radar if she isn’t already. She can play ABOVE the rim I’ve seen her jump and grab it without a running start, I’m curious to see if she is developing her jump shot because when she does she will be one of the most desirable recruits in her class. Best two games on Saturday are Luhi vs Paul VI followed by Christ the king vs St. John’s college which are pre season 1&2 by most rankings. Sunday st. Frances vs Life center Angel Resse plays for st. Frances life center has a reputation of being good but I think it’s a rebuilding year but still want to see Reese

I won’t be available to watch it (don’t know if it’s free) but if you haven’t seen Celeste play... They’re playing Paul VI led by Ashley Owusu so should be a good matchup.

Screenshot (56).png Here's the details from the link above: Celeste's game should be over before the UT VB game at 7PM on ESPNU.

Well worth the $6.99 they are asking for a trial period.

wow, big news re Blackwell. Wonder if that means she will no longer be playing HS ball this season. Hopefully, she will have no problems graduating and moving on to Mizzou.

The article linked basically quotes her mom indicating they can’t afford that school. Apparently she was at some other schools’ games.

Celeste didn't get a writeup in this report of the Art Turner Memorial Tournament but a couple of her 2022 teammates did as well as some players Texas is looking at in the 2020 and 2021 classes.
