Poona "Undrafted and Short" Ford finished the year with a 90.3. That's 10 best for all NFL interior linemen 2018. Hookem.
Poona was VERY good in his limited playing time. Happy that he's a Seahawk. It seems the Hawks see him as more of a run-stopper than anything else as he was only used in those situations later in the year.
It is my understanding that it is sometimes better to be undrafted as you can avoid being a Cleveland Brown and you may achieve a better contract sooner if you are a baller like Poona.
The difference between an UDFA and a 7th round pick is that you get to choose your own situation. Are the contracts roughly equivalent? I would think a UDFA would have less guaranteed money but the contract length may still be the same albeit in the team's favor.
High praise for Poona by Seattle's starting Center. Poona will likely be getting starter reps with Jarran Reed's 6-game suspension to start the season.
