Oh my, that is sooo often how I feel now - especially since I’ve retired.

I can't find the article but I have seen some data on this. It all depends on the country of origin and the specific ethnicity of the US citizen.

Basically it is all over the map. Some African immigrants out perform white US citizens. Some Asian immigrants underperform. Some ethnic groups of long time US citizens do better and worst. There wasn't any real evidence of privilege conferred onto white US citizens. The whole idea is a farce. That fact can be summarized in the following statement.

A vast majority of US Presidents have been white males, the vast majority of white males have not been US President.

There are communities of privilege in the US, it isn't properly characterized as "white".

A different article about political correctness and how it is used.

David Webb’s White Privilege | National Review

Jason Manning is a sociologist who has studied victimhood as a culture and reached similar conclusions. Basically it is a new moral system placing the victim in the highest wrung of the social order. It is a way to subvert order and power.

I would agree with this. Asian parents push education and hard work and therefore more Asians succeed in life. Success is more dependent on your work ethics and values than it is about the color of your skin. That's why I point to Asians as proof that "white privilege" is BS. Unfortunately I have seen the opposite dynamic in black communities. Blacks who do well in school are often ostracized and accused of "acting white". The value of education is minimized while anti-social behavior is glorified.

Just wanting to pass along my field research. Unfortunately it's not peer reviewed. First a little ego trip. Gentlemen, I'm a good looking guy. So, start with that stipulation. Second, I work at a Fortune 500 company that has made it very clear they don't want any problems when it comes to sexual harrassment. So what does my research indicate:

Well, here are the facts; two highly Liberal women in the past two weeks have hit on me. They were very nice about it. One actually put her hand on my chest (I have muscles) and said, "I just wanted to do that." The other today told me how handsome I looked. She has hinted about me taking her out before. The first woman is black and married. The other is Hispanic. I'm not interested in either one.

My reaction was calm. No big deal. Not offended. Keeping the peace. Soaking up the ego trip.

That's all I have. Draw your own conclusions.

And I'm not making anything up. It's just interesting to me that's all.

That's good stuff. Obviously, you're not permitted to put your have on a chick's chest in case you were wondering.

Strangely, I have gotten hit on more as a married man then I ever was when single. Never by a black chick though. I'm not their style apparently. Lol.

I had a friend that was single and put on a wedding ring as an experiment. He wore it for two weeks and he said that he got hit on more in those two weeks than he did in an entire year without the ring. I think it's one of those things like women who write and fall in love with serial killers. We men just aren't meant to understand it.

I think my sense of humor was working. I made her laugh quite a bit. She was very subtle about everything. A calm woman. The days preceding the "touch" were slowly ramping up. I could tell it was getting friendlier and friendlier. I have a personality/style that is very open and I think she felt safe about putting her hand on me. And of course had it been the other way around it would probably have been described an assault of sorts.

There is NO DOUBT that the Left is making rules with double-standards. I fully support a non-hostile working environment and all that that implies. But the reality this; women are less apt to complain if the man is good looking and/or has money/power. But the rules are quite different and everyone knows it. But the activists mock you for saying such a thing. They are not able to acknowledge reality; an inconvenient truth when they are using their rules to gain or hold onto power.

As for the wedding band, it doesn't always work:

Alternate theory. In Asia, I have been told that I look like Nicolas Cage or Tom Cruise. Or that I am attractive. When I tell that to my Asian co-workers in the Houston office, they say that I am being played and that these “flirters” instinctively know that is what I want to hear, and only doing it to get on my good side.

It really is remarkable, and there's no objective reason for it. By any measure, 42 year old married Deez is less physically attractive than 30 year old single Deez was. I was in better shape (not by a lot but at least some) and had thicker hair then. I was better dressed back then too. Most of the time, I walk around in jeans and a sweater or fleece top for comfort. No style at all. Lol. Perhaps it's a personality thing. Maybe because I'm not talking to women to flirt anymore, I don't have any fear of rejection and unconsciously speak more confidently, or perhaps it's the normal confidence that comes with age and knowing that most people I interact with are younger and dumber than I am. Who knows what's going on in their heads?

When I was single, finding out that a woman who was flirting with me was married was an immediate and resounding turn-off. Why? Obviously, there was the moral problem with it and the fact that I would be entering a hornet's nest of drama and ******** by getting with a woman who was willing to be unfaithful. But in addition to that, I felt empathy for her husband because I knew I'd never want to be cheated on myself.

At least to many women, none of that matters. I think they sorta like the depravity and thrill of taking something that doesn't belong to them and are flattered and turned on that a guy might be willing to risk his family for her. I think they also are more willing to assume that if a dude is willing to cheat, it's because there's something wrong with his wife rather than with him. As for empathy for the screwed-over wife, they have none of it. It just shows how laughably duplicitous chicks are when they talk about how loyal they are to other women. It's of bunch of crap.

Well, hey, if he wants to identify as Asian, who are we to stop him?

    I mean, Rachel Dolezal, right?

What was the final verdict on Dolezal? It seemed that the identity politics folks were unsure of how to treat that one. Have they held the annual SJW convention to figure out their official position yet? On one hand, they like the idea of determining your identity regardless of genetics but on the other hand know it will threaten their other sacred cow of Affirmative Action. I guess that's why the story disappeared.

I have asked people who are cheating or trying to cheat how they would feel if their spouse cheated. Almost to a person they would say THEIR spouse would not cheat.:rolleyes1:

    4th_floor Dude, where's my laptop?

Another piece of anecdotal evidence for the wedding band theory. I got married while i attending night school for my MBA. Women who had barely spoken to me the previous semester seemed very, very friendly the semester I returned with a wedding band. Maybe it was a coincidence or maybe my behavior changed. Who knows?
