ISU on the road? I for one am not to confident especially after the Georgia debacle. I was shocked to see them as a projected 10 seed in the latest bracketology. Guess beating Kansas will do that for you. The Horns do have a couple of other good wins, but some bad losses too. I feel the OSU loss could still come back to bite them. But then again, they have a 3-5 OU team projected as an 8 seed. I guess the Big XII still has a little clout. Go Horns!! Pull off your best road win of the season at ISU!

I hope the Horns rise up and upset the cones. However, I don't think they have a prayer on the road against ISU. Horns are not a good road team. They are notoriously inconsistent. Please Horns, serve me up some crow.

Texas could win any basketball game it plays against any opponent under Shaka Smart. We could also lose any basketball game we play against any opponent under Shaka Smart. It will depend what our 3 point shooting % is today.

So yes, we could win. Given that we just upset Kansas, we will probably lose the next three in a row though just because.

That's about the best summary regarding Shaka Smart at UT.

Just copy and paste your post just above to any and all remaining Shaka Smart threads for the rest of this season to save you some time and effort.

I think Smart with his players (after year one) has only won two in a row in conference play once and that was the first two conference games of this year. So I don’t like their chances, but I agree that anything is possible with them.

As usual, our final possession of the half is the play where we alternate standing around with runnine around like headless chickens, then somebody forces a long contested shot.

Really liked the foul by Roach on their last possession, it was on the floor and it was his first of the game, and it helped disrupt their final play. That's the type of heads-up "little thing" we need to see more of.

6-0 run to put us up by a point with 7 to go in the game.

Immediately upon getting a 3 point lead we revert to jacking up awful shots over and over, now down 4.

Ugh, Shayock hits a long 2 late in the clock despite decent defense. We're down 5 with 15 seconds left about to shoot FTs. We probably need to purposefully miss the 2nd to have a chance.

If they can continue to get that effort game to game, I feel they just might be alright. Of course Baylor will be another tough matchup. Does look like Tech has fallen on some hard times.

    Hmmm, which is worse?
Scoring 24 in a game against VT or losing to Radford at home?

    I'd say it's a toss up.
    :idk:

I didn't get to see the entire game, but what I did see was hustle, better ball movement and some better shot selection in many situations.

I'd get my hopes up that this team may be turning the corner but my fear is they get satisfied with a close loss to a pretty good team and lay a turd in the next game. We'll see what happens.

I'll preface this by saying that I did not get to watch the Iowa State game.

Seems like the players give good effort most nights. And talent-wise, we seem to be pretty good, albeit occasional poor shooting performances. But that leads me to the point..... it's coaching. There rarely seems to be a cohesive plan, strategy, or offensive scheme. If someone on this board is more basketball astute, please chime in. Shaka preaches "energy". That's great and all, but there is also X's and O's which I'm not sure Shaka is able to provide. He wants the guys to run-around ("Havoc"), but he's got to coach as well. He's an overpaid PE teacher from what I can tell.

Someone with good basketball chops, please agree or disagree. The results for the past 4 years are crappy.
