That would require Democrats being honest about their fellow Democrats, and holding them to the same set of rules that apply to normal people. Which will never happen. That county, Broward (also the home of Barbara Snipes), is rotten to the top.

He should have been canned a long time ago. Israel is a raging handjob. He and his office probably caused more death than anyone associated with the shooting except the shooter himself, and instead of taking responsibility, he behaved like the worst kind of politician. He self-righteously bashed political opponents who had nothing to do with it. Incompetent official and a garbage human being.

Sheriff Scott “Coward of Broward” Israel should be charged with corruption after making Roger Stone’s son a detective in exchange for his campaign “services”. Florida gonna Florida.

there are more of these districts doing the right thing.

Moody, Valley Mills, Crawford. They have similar signs.

Even if there are 0 armed people on campus, having the sign alone has to be a step in the right direction. It is actually 2 steps. The first step is to take down the gun free zone signs. At least make criminals do a little research or observation.

That's true ... but I'd have folks ready to defend the campus at a moment's notice if I was going to declare the organization could do so.

Intercession for the victim, the wounded ... and thanks for the sheepdog. Hope we learn his name soon. Hero.

The video on YouTube of the livecast or whatever it’s technically called ... pulled.

But ... if you find it, you’ll see that the perp is moving rapidly toward the center of the sanctuary ... which would have significantly complicated the opportunity to stop the threat (more folks near the perp). Sheepdog engaged before the clear shot was no longer clear. Quickly and precisely.

one killed and one injured (at least AFAIK right now) ... and the perp.

Goon squad media insists on including the perp in the dead. Nope ... he’s his own. He’s not worthy to be mentioned with the first man to confront the shooter but was already targeted when he started to draw. Need to know his name, too. The perp. Couldn’t care less who he is ... but it’s a good bet he’s “got issues” and isn’t in anyway stopped from possessing a firearm by any/all of these ridiculous notions of “control”

    Anyhow.

Be alert. Be prepared ... and train.

I have to admit that I was surprised to read about the church having a "security team." Did not recall that CoC was THAT capable of pissing people off...

Suspect that this will come down to some sort of grudge and they knew where the alleged offender would be at that time of day...

I remember the outrage from the Left when the NRA President made the common sense statement about how to stop a bad guy with a gun. Thank God that some good guys had guns at that Church.

After having to adjust to liability claims thanks to too many Catholic parishes, “Child Protection Policy” became its own entity. The “security teams” were “toyed-with” for several years ... and then after Sutherland Springs’ attack, many got serious about it.

This guy should have known better if he had 1/2 a clue. Perhaps I gave my own response?

I personally know 14 congregations who have assigned “security” or “emergency” teams. Some of them even have uniformed police at the front door during greeting and release.

The first guy who got shot appears to be way too methodical on pulling his weapon. It was what appears to have gotten him shot IMO.

Biden criticized Abbott earlier this year for signing a law allowing CCL in places of worship. Biden called it irrational.
Wonder if he will admit he was wrong?

Our church has no less than 3 members carrying during service, 2 more near the entrances (one, leading to children's service). Cameras are used for both open entrances during services, if someone nears the entrance that doesn't look "friendly" they're greeted by a carrying member, with cover from another depending on the entrance

Our pastor and members that carry have this down pat. After the shooting in SW Ft Worth some time ago, plans were laid in place.

Sad we live in this violent era, but you have to prepare and protect

He won't for the same reason gun control supporters back gun control in the first place. They think that someone who is willing to commit murder will respect a gun law, that the gun law itself will prevent the shooter's access to a gun, or that law enforcement will be able to stop them before they kill because they've violated the law by possessing the gun. How those "logics" would apply to a specific situation are rarely considered. The response is kneejerk. Beta and Julian Castro have already commented and spouted the gun control gibberish.

They believed when the shooter took off running he was going after the preacher next. Can you imagine if they didn’t arm themselves how many people would have been killed? 10? 20? 30?

I am surprised anyone tries this in Texas. The whole world knows we are well-armed. Rmbr the two guys who tried to intercede in the Mohammed drawing contest? Same reason we don't see much antifa activity. The thought of being shot back at seems to drain their courage. Would have been different had this happened in CA, NY or NJ

i just drove through Ballinger during Christmas. I think all schools and churches need to be prepared just like the Church of Christ did in Ft Worth.

My church in Nashville has a security detail. Any coward coming in there to shoot will be met with overwhelming force. Good for that church being prepared. Just sad that two people lost their lives.

I think this man was trying to assess the situation in a couple of seconds more than being too methodical. He was drawing his gun, but to me, it looked like he wanted to be absolutely certain he should shoot. Can you imagine the outcry if he had shot an innocent man?
It's a tragedy that his caution cost him his life.
(obviously I don't have this quote thing down!)

I agree. he was the first ... the others had the benefit of the perp’s attention on and action toward him.

In a free society, the bad guy will have the advantage initially ... but also in a free society, his advantage will vaporize as soon as he acts badly.
