Texas up 12 at the half. Not sure why I watch anymore, as seen it before. Pretty good movement on offense (for Texas at least) and they shot the ball well. Second half, the offense will be in front of the bench and we'll see if Smart micromanages it to a standstill as is his tendency. We'll see what happens when the threes stop falling.

Texas continues to hit almost everything up 19 with 14 to go

Somebody compared Smart to Mackovich. Does just enough to be kept around much longer than he should be kept around. I cant understand how his teams can beat almost anyone and at the same time lose to almost anyone.

Hard to lose when you shoot nearly 60% from 3. Even Shaka couldn't coach them down from that. ISU is not an elite defensive team nor is b"metoo"u. I highly doubt they will shoot as well against sand aggy.

I am now watching UH game (against 7'6 dude - Tacko Falls of UCF). Kelvin Sampson has them playing tough. They are a much easier team to watch

Seems quite obvious that our scoring output is much better. and the team IQ seems to have gone up. Turnovers down, fouls down, open shots up.

I think you are correct^^^, but I hope he keeps Febres starting. And Actually, I think Ramey has earned his starting role.

How about this five getting the lion's share of the minutes:
    Hayes, Osetkowsky, Ramey, Febres, Coleman
    Then--
First off the bench: Mitrou-Long, Sims, Roach, Hamm, Hepa

We don't know that Roach will be back.
But I agree with riding this line-up and bringing Roach in off the bench if he does come back.

Texas is such a roller coaster team, sometimes within games which is why no lead is safe and no deficit is unrecoverable. If they had any consistency at all they would have 20 wins by now and safely be in the tournament. I still think they need two more wins to get into the tournament and that means either sweeping last two (which would mean needing to get a win in Lubbock) or winning a game in Big XII tourny probably against Kansas if they end up 6th and Kansas finishes third which are current standings.

Roach has always been a great athlete playing basketball. He has improved over the years. Though he still isn't a lock down defender or reliable end of game play maker as a Senior.

I get the comparison, but that's also kind of an insult to Mackovic. The guy did win 3 conference titles in his 6 years at Texas. Smart might need more like 60 years at Texas to get that many.

I doubt Smart can ever win a conference championship at this level. It seems obvious that he cannot our recruit his lack of coaching ability.

In my opinion under Smart Texas will never finish higher than 3rd or 4th in conference, but so far he has shown no higher than what 6th?

Edit: In his first year with Barnes players Texas ended up 4th. The others have been last place, 6th and 6th so far this year. Beat TCU and we could end up tied for 5th place.
