Did you make the first sentence up? I haven't seen that even said on MSNBC. Seriously. Talking to foreign officials on the phone and after other meetings is normal. I repeat NORMAL. Normal like Obama did it. Bush did it. Clinton did it. Bush did it.

Flynn did lie. You're right. He was also lied to by the FBI. So now we have a new precedent established that the government can lie to you but you can't lie to the government or you go to jail. I am not for Flynn lieing. I am against the government lieing. That is a horrible thing to accept as a "free" citizen. You are literally asking the government to oppress you.

 

It should at least get as much resources as whitewater got. Or Iran-Contra. Or Watergate. How long did those take?

The key there being "using Russian diplomatic facilities". That seems like a bridge too far to me. But, hey, I'm only an American.

Also, cops lie to people they're trying to catch telling them untruths all the time. It's a thing.

Impeachment is not something that should be a goal. That said, I believe that he could, as he claimed, shoot someone on 5th Avenue and his supporters wouldn't change. That includes the Senate.

It is hard for me to understand if the discussion used Russian diplomatic facilities or if that was the content of their discussion. It sounds like they discussed through normal channels the possibility of using Russia diplomatic facilities as the means of setting up a secret and secure communications channel.

Otherwise, you know there wouldn't be reports of these discussions from "multiple sources".

You're right it is a thing. A very hypocritical thing. If they set up a ruse to get information about a criminal activity like theft, bribery murder, I get it. But when the government lies to a citizen and the only thing they can get on that citizen is that they lied back to the government. I think that is a different thing.

Please apply a little thought to what you wrote. Kushner wanted to set up a back channel. That doesn't mean that he did set up a back channel or even use a back channel for communication he did have. You assert that he did with no real evidence here other than snark.

I agree Kushner should not have wanted that. It is a corrupt desire. But there is still a distinction between a desire and action to satisfy that desire. That is why, based on the level of evidence and logic you have presented, I assert that you are making all this up.

 

I agree there should be a distinction between an action and planning for an action. That said, maybe you should add some depth to your thought processes as well. Corrupt desire? That's a Ron Jeremy movie. I think corrupt intent is more fitting. Sounds like collusion to me and to Black's Law Dictionary: "doing something with the full knowledge that it is illegal."

The FISA application process was obviously corrupted by partisan liberals in the top of DOJ. This needs to be accounted for. Those applications are signed and sworn to, similar to a declaration, with penalty for perjury attached. Supposedly, the IG for the DOJ is looking at this now. We will see.

There was certainly foreign collusion in the 2016 election

For starters Christopher Steele is ex-MI6 (British Secret Intelligence Service) and was in contract with some of his former bosses stilll working there during this event. Was it "collusion" when the Clinton Campaign paid millions to this British spy for his fake Russia dossier?

In addition, the Obama administration invoked the cooperation of the GCHQ (Government Communications Headquarters - the British version of the NSA) to skirt US laws to spy on the Trump Campaign. While all of this may have involved a country which is supposed to be our staunchest ally, it still meets the definition of foreign collusion and it is still illegal.

The next is Ukraine where some current politicians there appear to be the original source for the allegations contained in the Steele Dossier which was the sole basis (as far as we know) for the FISA warrants.

And, of course, there is Russia --

And it also appears other European spy agencies were used by the Obama Admin to spy on Trump and his people. And event eh Australians --

You will recall Trump formally announced his candidacy in the Summer of 2015. So, by the time of all of this foreign spying on him, Trump was already running and they all knew it. Thus they were spying on a candidate for President of the United States and reporting what they learned back to Barrack Obama who was the then leader of the opposition party.

So, from my perspective, it looks like there was quite a bit of foreign collusion in the 2016 Presidential Election. And, ultimately, almost all roads lead back to the man who was president at the time.

I doubt that anything will ever stick to Obama. Underlings may take the blame but he won't.

 

If they refused to apply the law to Hillary then there is no way they would do it to Obama. He is untouchable. Nonetheless, the people have the right to know what he was doing in their name.
