Some are saying Holly might step down to take another position in the athletic department at UTENN....apparently she met with the AD today, so if a change is happening, it could be announced very soon. Guess we will see what happens.

Chill out. You people are looking for quarrels. Sorry I used the words "I think it's more productive to focus on our own problems..." Don't worry, everybody has a perfect right to talk about Tennessee or Podunk U. or whomever. I was just trying to convey that Tennessee ain't the only school that's got some problems. Can we relax, now?

Walz and the old AD got along great. He is about to lose Durr and supposedly the Vols job is one of the few that he would leave for. It makes sense.

Not a rebuilding job at Tennessee and lots of YOUNG talent to work with, plus #2 recruit incoming.

Yep. He would have them in sweet 16 at least next year I bet. Talked to some Tenn fans recently and the only reservation they had is him being a male. Some of these programs are set in their ways I guess as far as hiring practices go.

I'm all FOR giving equal opportunity to women... have voted for many, worked for many, and still do. At the end of the day, however, hire the right PERSON to meet expectations.

UT v UT. Comparing Holly’s record as head coach and Karen’s record during the same time period is interesting to say the least.

Let the arguments begin! :catfight: :tap::cursing2::idk::beertoast:

True but there are plenty of female coaches with better records than Walz. I do, however, like him a great deal. One of my favorites. Would want him at our UT just to piss off Mulkey :lmao:

IMO that would be a lateral move for Walz.

Jeff Walz is 322-97 with a .768 winning percentage. He has taken his teams to 4 Sweet 16s, 1 Elite 8, 3 Final Fours, and made the championship game twice in 12 years at Louisville. Alot of this was done while being in the same conference with both UConn and Notre Dame. He also won a national championship as an assistant coach at Maryland. These stats do no include this year's post season. Not many out there with better resumes.
