Honestly, prior to the scrimmage, I harbored concerns about linebacker speed. Now, I don't. I saw McCollough covering a deep pass and my first thought was it must be a cornerback sharing his number. Later I saw Ossai breaking up a pass in the end zone and saw Dele effectively making plays sideline to sideline.

Never say never... Ricky stayed past his Junior year. Roy Williams did too. You never know.

Different generations. Collin stayed; LJ declared knowing he will not go until the mid-rounds if not later.

I actually believe that some kids, granted not many, appreciate the experience and realize that money isn’t everything. Some are actually that mature. (Remember, I said “some,” not many.)

Ricky stayed because he wanted a shot at the Heisman, and thought he could get it. He was not all about the money. Never was.

CJ is a class act with a terrific role model in his father. I had expected him to stay.

I’ll go out on a limb and predict that even if Sam were to win the Heisman and/or a NC, the odds are high that he would stay. That is, unless he felt that by doing so he would be depriving Thompson or Johnson of their chance at glory. Sam has Longhorn blood in his veins.

But it is true that for many, it’s all about the money. Can we blame them? Well, perhaps. At some point in life — but usually later — many realize that the experience they had in college was the best time of their lives.
