Basically a home game for us! Good move for recruiting in our biggest hotbed (Greater Houston).

I may be in the minority, but I like Rice Stadium. Old, classic (in a mid-century sort of way), and I've seen a lot of games there. The Rice athletic dept. used to 'give away' lots of tickets to the FCAs at Houston area schools for $5 a pop to get more butts in the seats and as community outreach (but no $5 tickets when UT came to town).

Problem--the old wooden bleachers were falling apart before renovation.

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

Good recruiting exposure in Houston and yes, it will be like a home game for the Horns. 25 to 1 burnt orange to blue / gray in the stands.

I like the evening kickoff. :hookem:

Tickets avail? Anyone know which side will be the visitors (ours)?
Thanks, it will be great to get in another game plus the home games next year. Trying for nine games attended this year.

Glad we're playing in Houston, for exposure, ease of alumni attending the game, and recruiting. Good job scheduling.

It could only be better if it was at Rice stadium. IMHO, NRG is sort of like the new Dallas Cowboys stadium, but not quite as bad--soulless, sterile, ultra-modern, very "nice", lots of technology/hi-tech, retractable roof, plenty of off-the-field distractions inside the stadium, enormous tv screen, off campus, definitely a "pro" stadium, the diametric opposite of Rice Stadium. Some people like all that stuff for the college game, me--not so much. Think us vs. UCLA at the new Cowboys stadium--yuk.

Thanks Bad, amazing how Tx side appears on the site more filled than Rice. Prices different too n some cases. Might sit on Rice side. :hookem:

This will be the only game this year that we "lose the halftime."

Those brainy birds of prey need something to look forward to, besides drunk bicycle riding and streaking through the campus covered in shaving cream.

Dunno, the MOB was pretty hit-or-miss the last few times we played them. I agree that playing this at Rice Stadium would be nice. Although then we couldn't pull an OU-Houston and not count it as a road game if we lose.
