I don't follow British politics much but Nigel is pure gold every time I have listened to him.

After Mr D had scotch with Nigel I have followed him and like how plain spoken (in a great Brit accent) he is.

Hmmm, I believe I heard him say, “we now have a two party system that works for nothing but itself” I think I got that right. Sounds like I country I know on this side of the pond.

Two years later, I still marvel that I was able to do that and consider it one of the coolest things I've ever done in my life. And I can honestly say that in person, he is the same guy you see on TV. He's just as sharp, passionate, and witty, and he's a hell of a nice guy.

Huh? I always thought UK was in the SEC. What's this European Union?

It is the institution that makes it so that I can't own a garbage disposal, can't buy Round-up, can't wash my car in the driveway, and can't buy a toaster that'll hold more than 2 slices of bread.

    Wait a minute...I am sensing a money-making opportunity here.

How much money can we make on a four-slice toaster? Any additional profit for the ones wide enough to hold bagels?

And what about RoundUp? I'm sure I could figure out how to label it as client-privileged and get that stuff to you :D

The most hardcore Remainers are trying to spin the election as a victory for Remain and/or a second referendum. They argue that the 33 percent that the Brexit Party shows that support for Brexit has weakened because it's below what the original Brexit vote got. The reality is that 33 percent not only support Brexit but are willing to do so as single issue voters. To them, Brexit overrides every other issue. (Keep in mind that the Brexit Party isn't really running on anything else.) Almost for sure plenty of Tories and Labour voters also favor Brexit.

    Were there elections in Germany?

Yes. They were for the European Parliament. The mainstream parties did poorly. The Alternative for Germany and Greens did very well.

Scottish "nationalism" is on the rise again. Link. I put "nationalism" in quotes, because they seek independence from the UK in order to join the EU and the Eurozone.

I once rode from LA to Las Vegas with a Scotsman. The guy was extremely chatty, talking non-stop the whole way. We stopped at a rest stop, he was alone in the mens room, could still hear him talking from outside. The entire time, I think I maybe understood 10 words of what he was jabbering on about. So how does anyone know what they want?

To be fair, they've manipulated the results to show a majority by leaving out the undecideds. Link. However, it's still a pretty telling result. A solid plurality (44 percent) agrees with the statement. It's a pretty stark contrast from what the political chattering class and media have been portraying which is that Brexit is a horribly stupid idea that people mostly regret and want undone.

I bet if the UK worked out the issue with how to manage the border between Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland satisfactorily that 44% would continue to climb.

I thought Boris was ready to Leave with or without a deal? What is Nigel up to?

Things just became more difficult for Boris. The UK Parliament took a No-Deal Brexit off the table. This certainly removes any limited leverage Johnson may have thought he had.

Of course, it also boxes in the hardcore Farage's of the Brexit movement who yearn for a No-Deal Brexit.

At the very least, this Brexit drama will continue for several more months.

Are you sure that the British Parliment took the No Deal Brexit off the table?
    Do you have a link?

I hadn't read that anywhere else either SH. Not saying it didn't happen, but heard an explanation other than Johnson now wants a new parliament vote on his administration.
