And as a Texan I have deep concerns over what any abrupt move away from oil and gas would do to this state. Hint--economic devastation over large swaths of the state that would resemble the depression.
Does anybody outside the oil patch give a damn? They sure didn't during the last major oil bust of the mid and late 80's to early 90's. If you lived through that in Texas, you know what I mean. What the enviro extremists have in mind would be much worse. Sure, our state economy is a lot more diversified now, but an abrupt move away from oil and gas would still be devastating.
Ah yes, back to the topic at hand--Christian persecution: many churches in this state would lose lots of their funds and parishioners if this happened. So there's that...
