), Mardi Gras can be fun for many, there is much history and interesting architecture, and the music is unique. The fishing is also incredible. I'd say that state has some very strong positives--many of which are unique only to their state, and some very strong negatives (pollution, health problems, weather, hurricanes, mosquitos, flooding, 3rd world level corruption, primary and secondary level education, "all kinds of f@cked up" as you put it, swampy).
All-in-all I'm glad Louisiana is there and nearby. Also LSU has rabid, but generally not hostile, fans and a great tailgating scene. I like the vast majority of folks I've met from that state.
I agree on favoring them over the other SEC teams--especially aTm and Arkansas.
