Crisp against an inferior opponent. Kind of reminds me of last year against Georgia, we had no shot against the all mighty SEC. Herman always gets his teams up for good competition. LSU is really good, but so are we. Horns 37 LSU 20

Another aspect of this game is expectations and respect. I really like the fact that we are a home underdog. That’s an insult and every Texas player gets that. No respect for the program and for the home field. Shades of the Sugar Bowl.

As if we needed more motivation...

and what is the common denominator? $EC, $EC, $EC opponent. All of you $EC (LSU) homers - as you drive or fly back to wherever you came from that you will acknowledge your $EC (Tigers) were "up" for the game; the officials called the game they saw; and that Texas was the better team.

I’m just that confident in our defense. I said in another thread this is the best defense we’ve had since 2011. If our dline dominates then it will be as good as 2003.

My bad. At the start of every year I seem to forget this is an actual contest that's being kept track of. I edited mine

I see LSU's defense shutting the run game down cold and making us one dimensional , and Teeing off on Sam. This will force our defense to take chances that could be disasterous. Losing another RB, and having to move a LB over, thus depleting that group really kills us. I know many look at the Aggy win over LSU last season as a reason for optimism, but shouldn't. LSU offense was a 3 yards and cloud of dust attack that played into A&M's hands ( they play the run great ). LSU couldn't hear their own thoughts over the roar of the crowd ALL GAME LONG. LSU's offense is opened up this year, and our stadium doesn't get loud except on third down...by then its usually too late.
    Hope I'm wrong....
    LSU - 38
    Texas - 17
Giving us reason to circle the date to go into Death Valley next season with a purpose.

They score 3 in OT and we score 6 to win the game.

    31-24 LSU.

The lack of a strong running game is going to make Sam run for his life Saturday night. The DBs are way too green for what they'll face too. I think the Horn's show glimpses of what the future holds, but they are still a year or two away from being at the level to win one of these. I'll love to be wrong. And if I am, I reserve the right to drown my crow in Rudy's 'sause'.....

Points wise your score doesn't work in OT. Texas scores 11 and lsu scores 10. How is Texas going to score eleven?

Both teams score FG on first possession. LSU gets first possession in second OT and scores a TD. Texas comes back w/ a TD and goes for 2 to win the game.

    I'll go with 34 - 31

Ok, but that's two ots his example was three ots but we can assume that no one scores in the second ot. I guess that could happen.

But in the third overtime both teams have to go for two so his example does not work.

OK, missed the part of 3 OTs. Just figuring out how it could get to the final score.

I'm going 31-27 Horns. Not comfortable with it, we'll have to clean up some things from last week, but I think we'll find a way to get it done, knocking off the best team in college football history since the 2005 USC Trojans. (Which is going to make it frustrating that they'll still finish third in their division because the SEC is so good that the 2005 Trojans would have finished fourth if they played in the SEC this season.)

Previously I picked the longhorns to win but with only two running backs that puts a lot of pressure on Sam. Sam has shown that under pressure and fatigue he makes mistakes or gets hurt. So unless we receive turnovers without turning the ball over the Outlook does not look too promising.
    We need another running back..duh

Sounds like LSU has the 85’ Chicago Bears for defense and the 14’ NE Patriots for offense.
If you believe the LSU posters who have been inundating us all month. They do talk some **** don’t they? Fortunately, they play Texas not Georgia Southern This Saturday. We’ll know the truth in 5 days. I hope this is a great game! Should be.

We don’t run the triple option, and we tackle better than GaSo.

We get a pick six and special teams score.

    Hook ‘em

This is a very likely scenario....
Usually a few close misses before teams get on top...not sure if we've had enough yet.
BUT...I personally am going to go ahead and bet TH team's big game mentality and prep and say
30-27 Good guys...and a real fun night at DKR
...Don't want to be the guy who picked against us here after a big win
