At the moment, it is the lead story on ESPN.com "According to ESPN's win probability, SMU entered the fourth quarter with a 1.7% chance to win, but Shane Buechele led touchdown drives of 19 plays, 10 plays and 14 plays on consecutive possessions, going 12-of-17 passing for 135 yards in the process." No Bama, no Clemson, no fun? SMU saves drama-free day with epic win
Hookem Shane! Watched most of game and it took three qtr for him (and team) to get going but he can throw that ball - which we all knew. Great comeback.
Just tuned back to ESPNU to see third OT. Tulsa kick by kick-off kicker was wide (regular kicker succumbed to hamstring injury in 2nd OT) then Shane threw to the front left corner of the end zone on SMU's first play on a catch that was initially called incomplete. Replays showed the receiver controlled the ball and had a foot in. On the replay, Ahmad Brooks and thousands of viewers said, TD all the way. The referees concurred upon review and the game was over with each team on its sideline. Weird ending to an improbable comeback.
Great comeback, great exposure for the Sonny & Shane Show. I look for that officiating crew to be in the Big XII next year.
