Who gives a ****. I enjoy when opponents doing it and dancing around after big plays. And then walk out of the stadium with their heads hanging after we beat them. Says more about them.
I've never understood the horns down, for two reasons: 1. Our hand sign is simply supposed to resemble a longhorn's head. Horns down is...a longhorn eating grass? A longhorn about to charge? A longhorn in prayer? Why does it have its head bowed? 2. Doing horns down shows no matter who you are, it's always about Texas. You'd think any fan or player would want their school to be in the spotlight, rather than their opponent.
What would the OU hand symbol be? One thumb and index finger in a circle and the other thumb and index finger shaped like a U? Too hard for the average OU graduate to coordinate both hands like that.
I hope they do it. And we beat their dirty asses for it. Losers at life. Exemplifies the whole sorry state of Oklahoma. Why should we care if they can’t promote themselves and can only see their self worth through putting us down.
Whenever you see them flash the Horns down, just tell them we understand how hard it is for Okies to get it up.
I couldn't care less about the horns down thing until a few years ago when one of our receivers (I forget who) was penalized for the holstering of the pistols against Tech
i think he gets the coolness of the horns up. and making it into a "thing" for them only validates its coolness. if i was coaching against us, i'd tell my players that. "listen guys, you doing that only makes them look like 'the man' and that we're jealous. stop doing that!"
Being that most of the players are from Texas how do ou fans come up with a hand sign that shows embracing of land thievery, cheating, and overall asshattery by traitorous pieces of shite? They could hold up paper clips, I guess.
Big 12 Says 'Horns Down' Will Be Penalized 'Like Any Other Celebration Foul' 'Horns Down' is already causing confusion this season
blowu had signal is a hand in a circle like it's holding something like a pole going up and down really fast. Of course because it's blowu the pole is very short.
I like the idea of pumping up this rivalry even further and maximizing the antagonism and smack talking between these two diametrically opposed schools (at least for this one week in October). With that in mind, I suggest Tom advise the referees before the game that UT declines all penalties this game for doing the Horns down sign--and so advise Riley and the Sooners.
This seems kind of like asking Bob Crane not to compulsively masturbate at dinner parties. Sure they might know it’s self-destructive and yes they might even admit that and agree to stop. But does anyone really expect the sooners not to publicly degrade themselves?
I went into a CVS here in Dallas about 430, and some Okie had gone to a display of burnt orange cups and turned them all upside down. In my hotel, lovely lady from Oklahoma (yes, she was good looking) told me that my shirt was on upside down. I told her to please lower her voice because I didn't think she wanted to broadcast to the entire lobby that she knew what my shirt looked like from that angle.

My issue with Horns down is this: if our players get flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for doing Horns up, opponents should get the same for doing Horns down.
The proclamation from Riley didn't last long...as soon as the cameras were on a Blow-U player, they started with the nonsense... HOWEVER...with the pregame unsportsman conduct penalty to EVERY player, that means we could see some land-thieves getting BOOMED from the game since they won't stop doing it...
