    "Where is Hillary?"

That was the question then-U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice's mother asked when she told her she would be appearing on all five Sunday morning political shows on Sept. 16, 2012 — just five days after the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. The plan was to appear in place of then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, at the White House’s request.
I smell a rat,” her mother said. “This is not a good idea. Can't you get out of it?"

The exchange was detailed in Rice's new book, “Tough Love: My Story of the Things Worth Fighting For," as she recalled what led to and what fueled the biggest political controversy of her government career — those appearances on "Fox News Sunday," ABC's "This Week," CBS' "Face the Nation," NBC's "Meet the Press," and CNN's "State of the Union.” Her flawed characterization of the attacks as resulting from a spontaneous protest later made her the target of GOP criticism that ultimately led to her withdrawing from consideration to succeed Clinton as secretary of state.

Looking back, Rice insisted in her book that she does not believe Clinton set her up – Rice's mother feels differently – but recognizes that Clinton and National Security Adviser Tom Donilon likely knew what was coming."
Susan Rice book airs frustration with being put on air in Clinton's place after Benghazi attack

bad timing for Hillary if she is thinking of running or even as she tries to repair her reputation.
Someone commented that it is a shame to learn Susan Rice committed suicide next week.

How weird to give your mothers opinion like that. Its seems that Rice blames Hillary but is too cowardly to say so. Instead she throws momma from the train. Pathetic.

I'm no Susan Rice fan, but she did get screwed in the Benghazi fiasco. Why would the UN Ambassador be sent out to lie and take the heat for that attack? That's for the President or the SoS. After all, it was a diplomatic facility that was attacked, and it wasn't Rice's facility.

Frankly Rice probably had no idea that she was telling a lie. Considering her position, there's no reason why she would have been privy to any information other than what was fed to her by the CIA. Of course, we now know that Hillary and presumably Obama knew what the truth was while they cowardly sent Rice out to spread their ********.

I'd be pissed at them too, but she can't throw them under the bus. It would validate a Republican talking point on Benghazi (that there was wrongdoing), eviscerate a Democratic narrative (that everything the Democrats did on Benghazi was pure as the wind driven snow and that the scrutiny is just conspiracy theories) and therefore end her career in Democratic politics.

Doesn't sound like she's wised up too much. She still doesn't realize she was sacrificed to save Hillary for greater things.

And a good thing for us, too. Otherwise we wouldn't have had the delicious thrill of Trump's victory over Hilly in 2016.

Whatever the reasons, there is no accountability for failure. Benghazi was a failure. So were the hacks which occurred on Obama's watch. He called ISIS the JV. He also attacked and mocked Mitt Romney for saying Russia was our number one geopolitical threat. Funny how later that apparently proved to be true but all was forgotten. Obama's soundbite served it's intended purpose: win the election. Nothing matters. Wildly incorrect statements or actual operational failures mean nothing. It's all about the words the beneficiaries of the Liberal Patronage Complex want to hear.

I don't want to come across as one-sided but it's ridiculous how much is ignored on the Left. They think they are innerent.
