I mean walk his *** out of the office tonight with his pink slip. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200, do not come back in the office to take anything home.

It's not Orlando. It's Diaz with an Orlando mask. Orlando just can't be this stupid.

Does an AD ever chime in on things like this? Someone mentioned that Del Conte might have said something about an assistant coach at TCU, but I don’t know where that line is drawn.

Yeah, this knee jerk schnizzle from "fans" who know little is so ******* non-productive and tiring. I suppose he is to blame for all the injuries too?

Let Herman make his decision after the season is over.

This is more scheme than injuries. 3rd and long, every single play we blitz 6-7 and leave everyone on an island. Even if we did that 50% of the time, I'd be ok with it. But we blitz 2 guys from 10-15 yds off the LOS. They have zero chance to get to the QB. So our DBs are on a complete island with no deep safety and nobody in the middle of the field. It's simple pitch and catch. It's easy peasy football and any team with a pulse can beat this scheme. That's why we want this guy gone. Because we've seen this before with Diaz. And 2 weeks later we had a functional D after he was gone. What do they say about insanity? Yea that's running TO and his stupid *** scheme out against TCU.

Any high school DC in Texas who coaches for a successful team. Their task is to line up right, teach a base defense, reinforce assignments and technique.

Immediate upgrade from the garbage we have seen so far this year. Absolute garbage against the worst offense in the Big 12 against an OC calling his first game in D1 college football ever.

It would satisfy me on some level to know that Todd Orlando is cleaning out his cubicle in Belmont and filling a box with his belongings right now... but burntorangeLH is right.

Don’t get me wrong now I want him out also but right now today I personally think it would be a mistake with so much left to play for.

No he isn't. He is just too afraid to make the right decision. Fear isn't your friend.

I've built high performance teams in my job. No way in hell I'd accept that level of performance from someone that I depended on. He/she would either show me quickly they can adapt/change and perform or they'd be out. And during that time, I'd take more control over their responsibilities. It's called being a leader.

Also need to hire a DB coach or analyst who is an expert in zone coverage. In the Big12 zone coverage is a must be it has to be run at a high level.

On the bright side Keontay showed some stuff tonight. Not sure why he disappeared in the later in the game.

Basic tackling is STILL a big issue for us. We made Williams look like a Doak Walker winner tonight. He repeatedly ran through our tackles—especially our arm tackles.

Where has this Vaughans guy been? He had a pretty decent game.

There is a guy named Chris Ash on the staff who might take the chance to make a place for himself on the staff.

Herman is Mensa so he is definitely smarter than me but if we cut Orlando now who will he promote to take his place. None of the position coaches have earned their keep so far. If don’t win and the conference championship game is out the window then by all means pull the trigger.

The guy who supposedly came down to help prepare for OU? If he had anything to do with that game plan it would be a pass for me no pun intended

At least consider bringing in Greg Robinson as a consultant if he’s willing and available. That would be my step one. See what he says.

To the question, “Who would replace Orlando?” I will ask: Does it matter? I’m not being flippant. We are headed toward the worst defense in the program’s history. Why should we be concerned about a change? Recruiting momentum? If we keep laying defensive eggs, there will begin to be attrition. Other programs must be salivating.

A change, and a fresh perspective, is desperately needed.

Tackling aside, because injuries contribute to that, there were way too many times their receivers were wide, wide, did I say wide, well that’s an under exaggeration, wide open. THAT is our major problem - coverage.

Read my other posts. They are wide open because we vacate the middle of the field with these late timed blitzes on every 3rd and long. We actually did a pretty good job against the run in the 2nd half on 1st and 2nd down, but then 3rd down all they have to do is run a receiver over the middle and there is no one home because we've vacated the area. You can't just blame the players when the scheme is the biggest issue. You have to mix it up. Some zone, some man, some blitz. You just can't run the same **** over and over and over and not expect the other team to beat it. This is on TO and TO alone. As to mensa boy, one of the worst workers I ever had was a mensa dude. I got almost no productivity out of him. Over analyzed everything he did. After that someone had mensa on their resume it was a pass. Now I actually believe in TH to a large degree, but I saw that same over analyzing on the pass with 8 seconds. No reason to take a chance there. Dicker is going to make that from 38 just as easily as 33. Get a hold there and that makes it a tougher kick. Risk/reward made no sense.

I completely agree. In fact, I was stunned by that decision. It absolutely raises questions about Herman’s judgment, and his decision-making ability under pressure.

Jalen Green, Sterns, Chris Brown out with injuries. Best 3 DB’s we have. It’s gonna have an impact.

How long did it take OU last year to fire Mike Stoops? Did they worry about who they were going to replace him with? Did they make excuses like, “...but...but... the INJURIES!”?
No. Because OU considers themselves a CHAMPIONSHIP caliber team and recognized that last years performance was UNACCEPTABLE, so they did something about it.
If Texas wants to be a championship caliper team then Orlando MUST go.
    NOW!
