OU is legit, so they'll take out Baylor. Nothing to give me hope that Orlando is capable of stopping anybody.

ANYONE that can PASS or RUN is a threat....WAIT, what did I just say!!!? YIKES, it's going to be an interesting end to the season....let's just hope SAM finds his cape and is up to the challenge...no sure why the OL is playing poorly....makes no sense...

We should not be ahead of 2 undefeated teams right now. Poll rankings are too dependent on historical prestige and on preseason ranking guesses (which are themselves too dependent on historical prestige).

Had we been dominating, I could see us being ahead of Minn, SMU, and Baylor since we have a pair of 1-score losses to excellent teams and those three would almost certainly have 2 losses as well. But after beating Kansas by 2, we should be below all three of them. Heck, our OSU win doesn't look nearly so impressive any longer either.

Yeah, this is where I'm at as well. We outta be around #19 with Michigan... we share some under-performing parallels with them anyways :whiteflag:

Agree, it’s stupid to put us up there with two losses and our last performance. Wishful thinking I believe.

We are there to pad LSU's stats, just like Florida and Georgia are ranked high to pad SEC strength of schedule.

Will ou go 13-0 and not make the CFP? Looks like Alabama, Clemson and aOSU have spots locked down. If LSU somehow beats Alabama, both will go in.

Uhhhh ... I think Texas won, but Texas did not move up. In the end, it is all about the W and L record. Margin means nothing.

Like Kansas or WVU or OSU? Definitely have to rely on the Offense with a depleted and young inexperienced defensive backfield.

At the end of the season, the only thing that matters is W vs. L. No extra style points for massive margins. They simply do not matter except to the over emotional. It is all about the W.

Believe me, I know how the rankings work, that's why I said it's a joke. Texas hasn't shown they are the 15th best team in the nation, IMO.

Edit: Margin of victory doesn't matter in the NFL. Matters, like it for not, in college.

@BurntOrangeLH I'm not sure why you quoted me above. I didn't mention anything about margin of victory.

Shane would torch the Texas defense. Sam would nuke the SMU defense and control the clock. Unfortunately, we will not know this season.

Baylor plays two serious teams a season - Texas and ou. Let's see the team that shows up in Waco against Texas after the plundering they will receive the week before by ou. In fact, Texas fans should want Baylor to still be undefeated for the ou game - that should keep ou focused.

If OU runs the table I’ll be shocked if they don’t make it.

Alabama, with Tua hurt, won’t be a slam dunk against Auburn or LSU. LSU has to play Auburn as well.

Then there’s Clemson, very overrated because they don’t play anyone...

Ok but that should be true for Baylor, SMU, and Minnesota also then.

Correct, dukesteer. In fact, I expect LSU to beat Bama - the LSU offense is real. Their defense isn't perfect, but should be able to contain Bama with a less-than-100% Tua.

Don't pile on, but does anyone else see a vague resemblance to some of Mackovic's teams? A great O but a porous D.

I never thought Tom would take us back to the John Mackovic days...

Yeah, I know we’re young and injured on D, but we’ve got to do better than this.

In spite of it all, I’m still glad we have Tom. He’s going to have to make the needed changes in the offseason, and meanwhile get more involved on the D side.
