Guess it's not a real surprise but I hate it.

Who was the first? I think some people are confusing Sheppard transfer portal as a decommit. But I vaguely recall an earlier decommitment a few months ago.

Mookie Cooper decommitted in early March. The injuries and poor play of the defense is now having an impact on recruiting.

Thanks, but not sure I buy the narrative.

Time will tell all. I hope we can land a solid replacement along with a couple of more. But check out our Defense's rankings:

Herman has to make a decision soon about T.O. or this ship is going to take on water fast. Ugh

Yep, greater opportunities to get on the field early. Mr. Princely is being advised by a "mentor." All logic is out the window. The cash could be coming in to the "mentor" soon, though.

Herman will review all coaching performances after the season and do whatever he deems necessary. I do not think CDC will sign off on Aranda for $2M+ per year.

So you are saying there are great early opportunities for incoming impact defensive players. How is that any detriment?

That they are thorough, intense, comprehensive and tough.

The improvement has been pretty incredible sense Herman took over. Any team that played the #1, #3, and #8 offenses with all the youth and beat up as we are will give up a bunch of yards. The effort is there, just need reps. Can't believe the short memory people have around here, or is it just not knowing the game very well.

Most of us know the game very well. The first part of you post made good points, but you can put this snide comment where the sun don't shine, newbie.

That's not what the D ranking in the FBS indicate. The O certainly is all of those, but the D needs work and lots of it, especially the backups. I believe D recruits, well make that a good many of them see an opportunity to make the rotation, some don't see that and consider the performance and or the rank of the D nationally and look elsewhere. In Herman's presser, I've never seen him that angry. The O played well and won the game. His anger seemed to be focused on the D especially giving up 24 points the the 4th Q. Some of the D starters have been out since the early games and the D played descent but regressed against KU. I hope we see much better results vs TCU and the D coaches prepare them better, and the players prepare themselves better. I still believe we won't lose another game the rest of the regular season, but the D still needs to improve and that takes coaching..

We could have every backup on the field for the entire season and we shouldn't be ranked 130th and dead last in ANY category and we're there in three and 126th in one.

I pulled defensive rankings for Orlando at every school he has been a DC. His defenses were progressively worse when he left than when he arrived at every school except his two years at Houston. I have no idea how this clown keeps getting better gigs and especially at Texas.

Woulda, coulda shoulda are not valid arguments or even observations.

*** to the staff, I assure you that Herman reviews everyone after the season is over. Maybe Aranda if CDC will sign of on $2M+ for a DC?

When I'm saying we should never be ranked dead last nor anywhere near last in any category ever I can absolutely use the word should. I dont want Herman to review anyone. Orlando needs to review every defensive coach now and take whatever action he needs to take, then he needs to be fired whenever Herman deems necessary. The sooner the better.
