I would be surprised if Stoops gave up mobilehoma for the sunny shores of Tallahassee.

This story hasn't been picked up by espn, cbs, or fox. I'll believe it when it happens. His brother Marc has been mentioned many times. That seems too big a mixup to happen but for now I'm not buying It.

Well I was thinking about posting Bob stoops coming to the Longhorns. Wouldn't that be interesting?

Don’t love him be we would do worse
Don't love him but we could do worse.

My number one choice has probably been John Harbaugh. Just saying. But Harbaugh just might win his second Super Bowl this season if Jackson stays healthy.

You get credit for dropping that rumor on certain BMDs at FSU. "Your" rumor is what accelerated the firing of Taggert and the negotiations with Stoops.

I'll tell Bob he owes you a commission.

This is real interesting to me because he's one of the 4 Oklahoma Sooner great coaches with 100 plus wins (and most all time). It furthers my opinion that he was forced out of OU because of the Joe Mixon case tarnishing OU's image (I know that'll get some backlash). His replacement, Lincoln Riley, is sort of squeaky clean... I guess the FSU money is going to be, dare I say it, Jimbo Fisher money. But recall reading that Bob didn't want to coach into his later years because his dad died coaching (heart attack, I believe)….Maybe he wants to move up the all time win list?

While Kendall as OC and possible HCIW is intriguing, that comes after a clause that says Mark Stoops has right of first refusal.

Imagine Kendall as HC and Beau Trahan as whatever title he wants.

Sorry, but this narrative needs a bit of context. Let's start with Mack v FSU in the ACC. Free Shoes joined the league in 1992, Mack left for Texas at the end of 1997, an overlap of six seasons. Mack was 0-6 against them. During that six year run FSU was 47-1 in ACC games. So it's not like anyone else was beating them either. Over all, they went 63-7-1 during that period, never finishing outside the top five in the AP poll, and of the 8 non-wins, 6 coming against teams with "Florida" in their names; as in "Miami of" and "University of".

While Mack's record against Stoops was something that was always a point of contention, even for people like me who view it as a one game season, the myth of Stoops "owning" Brown is a bit over blown. Stoops was one game over .500 in the series, 7-9. Hardly having someone's number as many on both sides seem to believe. Did Stoops ever beat Mack when Mack had the better team? Not even close. Did Mack ever beat Stoops when Stoops had the better team? You mean like the 2013 game that OU was an 18 point favorite and Texas rolled 36-20? Oh hell yes.

Just wanted to add a different context to the possible happenings in the ACC.

    Good Luck Coach!

It's because when OU beat Texas, every once it a while it was a BEAT DOWN.....that's what sticks with Texas fans....not the 7-9 record vs Stoops....but if you want to count Conference Titles, the debate is over.....

I guarantee you that if Bob takes the job, there will be all new managers at Publix in Tallahassee. None of that stupid **** Jimbo caused.

Frankly, the 14-3 was far more gut wrenching to me than 63-14. They each won one National Title. Mack just didn't need 14 John Blake recruits to win his.

The only game where Mack arguably had a better team and lost was 2001. Also Mack was 6-9 against Stoops, his seventh win against OU was over John Blake.

I still agree with your overall point that the Mack-Stoops record/rivalry was much closer than people gave it credit for. The two blowouts in 2000 and 2003 tend to color that debate as does Stoops winning 5 straight. Folks tend to forget that Mack won 4 out of 5 from 05-09 and that in the one game where the two teams were both at the very top of their peak in 08 it was Mack's Texas who won.

This was the final straw for me.
After this game the words "Mack has to go" came out of my mouth for the first time.

The funny thing was how everyone fawned over Case and Mack after the 2013 game, despite the fact that we were coming off of some awful losses to Taysom Hill and BYU and that revenge loss to Ole Miss and the transfer QB we should have picked up (Bo Wallace). And how we played for the "de facto" conference championship against Baylor where we got absolutely **** on, and that should have been enough to save Mack's job. *ppsssh*
