We seem to have lots of trolls, bandwagon fans and generally negative fans on the board.

Saturday is Texas Fight or go fishing?

    I’m Texas Fight.

I'll be there, but I think for most it will be Texas Fight versus Roll Tide/Geaux Tigers. First time I've ever hoped for an 11 AM kickoff.

This is a pretty good time of year for fishing on the Texas coast

    Fight.
    Bring on the cats.
    We owe them.
Let’s show their new HC what it feels like to play on the road in Austin.
He will remember the day he stepped foot in DKR

    It's a great honor

And fall fishing on the coast really is good - trout and redfish in the surf, the big reds in close, flounder move

    Yep...
I was blessed with parents(grandparents)who took me to the coast a couple times a year. .had a little place down there and a late 70s/early 80s 24ft ChrisCraft and an uncle that knew every single spot. They tied me to the inside of that boat as soon as I could stand with a pocket fisherman in my hand.
We did it all....and they are to this day some of my better memories.

I'll be in Laredo and will definitely watch the game. No troll here. Just wondering if this team is only a year off... the Texas is back talk is now a flat tire. It's hard to be excited. The loyalty is to the legacy so that is why the angst.

I know. My Dad was a prof there for 30 years. Was one of the originals hired on when it was called Texas A&I at Laredo back in 1970.

    He was no aggy.

We were going to the KSU game but were having a surprise party for Dad, he turns 80 this weekend. So we'll watch it on TV. Oh and cant wait to go fishing soon, maybe the 16th before the ISU game. Since I live close to the coast I can get home in time for a 2:30 kick off. Barely.

In the fall spoons, and bass assassins (soft plastic lures)in pumpkin and chartreuse, chicken on a chain, or salt pepper and chartreuse. Dark topwater lures early in the morning.

fishing is more important to me at this point in my life than football, but the grandson is in town and he trumps all. He's my 1st priority and if I get to watch some of the game that's a plus. But don't sell fishing short. Brings me more joy than most things in my life. Peace, tranquility, and beauty of being out on a great lake are hard to beat.

I bet most of our fishing community will be critiquing the game tomorrow.

I took my buddy and his brother deer hunting during the Kstate game. Successful hunt, glad to have heard about the tight win over a ranked team! Not to mess with the title of the thread...

I could not help but think about a horn fan on the bay heading in at 01:45pm to make sure he is timely for kickoff. As he heads to the boat ramp he catches sight of a huge school of large red fish tailing with no other boat around to mess it up. 32 inch reds schooling just off an oyster bank where you can anchor and keep them in.
    Fish or make game time?

    I do not fish ( I know I know)
But that looks like you could be hauled off the boat.
    Did you catch it?

Well..........I caught a redfish and a trout this morning. BTW, there was a tiny hole in my waders. Bay was cold this morning! I should be home by 2:10! All is good :yippee:
