With 8 seconds left Browns D player grabbed Mason Rudolf, got him on the ground twisted his helmet off and hit Rudolf over the head with it. Total pandemonium broke out and a big fight, 3 players ejected. Should be carried by Sports Center if you missed it. WOW!

The police should show up and cuff him. If the top of the helmet hits Rudolph, good chance Rudolph is in coma.

How many thugs has A&M produced? Hope Garrett doesn’t move to Houston. Please don’t pick him up off the waiver wire Texans!

The league may consider booting Garrett out for good. That being said, Rudolph wasn't the smartest guy for charging him with his helmet off. Good work by the OL who pinned the thug Garrett to the turf and smothered him to put an end to it. Generally, if a player intentionally hits and injures a person and it's clearly far outside the bounds of the rules of the game, he can be charged with assault and battery, and also sued in a civil action. Think of it like this: by playing the game, football players consent to being hit, tackled, blocked, etc. within the rules of the game. They don't consent to being hit on their bare heads with a helmet.

I'll pass along a flippant remark (some dark humor) from a comment to your video (paraphrased): 'At least Garrett won't get a targeting call since he didn't hit him with the crown of the helmet...'

That may be most dangerous thing I have ever seen using a helmet as a weapon, if he actually hit him with it death is seriously possible.

Garrett should be out at least rest of season and I am thinking a full year next season too just to send message this will never ever ever be tolerated.

Welp, they're divided and eating their own on the 10 or so Myles Garrett threads on Texags this morning. I can't hang out there too long, something about the atmosphere or maybe lack of oxygen but I did see this...

Yeah, he should have used a sabre instead :hookem:

Aggies never lie, cheat or steal. They will, however, rip your helmet off and beat you over the head with it.

Wouldn't using your helmet for other than its intended purpose be cheating? just saying.

Garret being an aggie is incidental. Suggesting it's relevant to the issue is opportunistic ********.

Garrett has been one of the league's dirtiest players for a while. not quite Ndamaken Suh or Albert Haynesworth out of control, but not much better. That said, I don't see more than a rest-of-the season suspension.

The helmetless Rudolph clearly was in his face ready to fight. Garrett had the helmet in his hand and was confronted by not only the QB, but a couple of offensive linemen. While he was swinging a helmet, Garrett's movement was encumbered and in no way potentially lethal.

I've been in a fight … and as I recall I was extremely aggressive and not very thoughtful. This is a go-to-jail offense, not an under the jail one.

I will say it's amazing to me what people will defend. Some aggies are defending MG's helmet bop last night because he didn't initiate. That situation was kind of like if Hamas shot some rockets into Israel and they fired a nuke back. There has to be measured responses in life. I honestly think there is a serious lack of self control in today's society. Not sure what causes it, but you see it every day. Road rage, shootings, etc... Hell I had a neighbor the other day that wanted to fight me because I'd parked my boat in front of the house for an afternoon while I washed it. People have lost their ever friggin minds. Personally I think it's that kids are told life's going to be wonderful and fair and then when it's not they don't know how to handle it. But that's a guess. I do think we'll continue to see more wtf incidents though in football because you see them everywhere else in society. Some lady parks in a handicap space and somehow it escalates into a shooting where one man is dead and another in jail. People need to learn measured responses to situations and when to walk away. Garret could have dropped the helmet, ripped his off, and said let's get it on little Rudolph. Get a 1 game suspension and move on.

He's not just getting suspended. Good luck keeping any endorsements. Those are all bye bye.

8:56 AM PT -- The NFL has suspended Myles Garrett without pay for the remainder of the 2019 season -- including playoffs -- as a result of the helmet attack.

    Here's the NFL's statement ...

"The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns organizations have each been fined $250,000 and three players -- Cleveland's Myles Garrett and Larry Ogunjobi, and Pittsburgh's Maurkice Pouncey -- have been suspended without pay for their actions in Thursday night's game."

"Garrett has been suspended without pay indefinitely -- at a minimum for the remainder of the regular season and postseason -- and must meet with the Commissioner's Office prior to a decision on his reinstatement. He was also fined an additional amount."

"Garrett violated unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct rules, as well as fighting, removing the helmet of an opponent and using the helmet as a weapon."

"Pouncey has been suspended without pay for three games and fined an additional amount for fighting, including punching and kicking an opponent."

"Ogunjobi has been suspended without pay for one game and fined an additional amount for unnecessary roughness, specifically for shoving an opposing player to the ground during an altercation."

"Additional discipline for other players will be forthcoming through the standard accountability process, including those players that left the bench to enter the fight area."

"Under the collective bargaining agreement, the suspensions may be appealed within three business days. Appeals are heard and decided by either Derrick Brooks or James Thrash, the officers jointly appointed and compensated by the NFL and NFLPA to decide appeals of on-field player discipline."

He was let off lightly because he blocked Rudolph in the back while Rudolph was helmetless after the play was over and Rudolph was just standing there. Way to light a punishment for a very egregious action that could have had severely debilitating consequences for Rudolph.

3-5 game minimum suspension plus substantial fine.

We’ll see the extend to which the League wants to make a statement. If they do — and they should — I’m thinking that Garrett doesn’t see the field until 2021. But typically the NFL is all talk.

Rest of the season gone and must apply for reinstatement. Not counting endorsements, Garrett has endured shame and flushed more money than it would take most of us to l live comfortably till age 100. That seems reasonably strong and serious to me. Of course, I'm the kind of guy who screws up every now and again and lives/loves only because of Grace.

Suspended for the, Playoffs??? Playoff! Playoffs! Cleveland? (I need that clip.)

The NFL needs to tighten things up and live by much higher standards. They have been letting sh- - happen on and off the field much too long and the league is turning into a bunch thugs. These overpaid players need to be held to a higher standard and know that for a bad enough incident, they are one and done. Go find other employment. See you later, gator.

One of the things I admired about Landry was that if a player screwed up, on or off the field, and was not manageable, they disappeared into the night. Renzel, Thomas, Hollywood, Niland and many more. I remember Niland got arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct one night, trying to beat down a neighbor’s door, and then tried to endear himself to Tom by telling the world that he found Jesus. A few weeks later he was sitting next to me at my watering hole indulging in a multitude of happy hour spirits. The next year he was gone.

For those who say you can’t do that today I say b.s. You will get a lot more effort from the rest of the team by getting rid of the problems, not to mention the respect of the players back to the organization and coaching staff.

Garret has been making late hits and roughing up qb’s much of the season. Kick him out until 2021 and then he can apply for reinstatement.

I read the League has suspended Garrett indefinitely. The Steeler O lineman got 3 game suspension for kicking Garrett in the head when he was down on the ground and another Browns(?) player was suspended for 1 game for his involvement. Garrett has appealed the ruling to get the Players' Union involved to review. That whole scene was ugly.

Haynesworth got 5 games for stomping his cleat into Andre Gurode's face, which wasn't nearly enough, and this one was at least equally bad. Could have cracked his skull if it had connected differently.
